Ever since reading the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead I'm always looking for more books about Succubi. I tried Succubus in the City by Nina Harper but couldn't finish. And after reading this one I'm really glad I missed my train that one day, and had no other option than spend some time in the bookstore at Grand Central..

Jackie is a witty and hilarious girl who wakes up in a dumpster and finds out that she's now a succubus. Because of this interesting opening chapter I was immediately hooked. Finished it within 24 hours because I couldn't stop reading. It was too bad I had to go to sleep and stop reading, otherwise I would've finished it in one sitting. Yes, I liked it that much.

Despite the ridiculous cover, this is a very good series. The creation of a succubus is incredibly creative and original, and I just love Jackie. I also feel incredibly bad for her - she was thrown into this situation with no prior knowledge, and yet everyone expects her to know everything already. No wonder she keeps getting into trouble.

This is my second or third re-read of the series, and I'm enjoying it just as much as the first time around.

This book was terrible. I can't believe I actually liked this in the first place. I read this three years and I thought I really liked it. I guess age does change the way you look at things. It's about the transformation of a frumpy museum docent into a voluptuous succubus. It's an interesting premise, but absolutely terrible execution. She continually whines about her predicament and does nothing about it. She is obsessed over one half of her "makers", which is an angel and the other is a vampire. The angel is very boring and I don't see how she could want to be with him. Physical attributes aside, of course. Her other maker is a vampire, who you find out is SPOILER, but not really is the vampire she teams up with to find a special halo. Anyway, the love scenes were so boring and it felt like I had read the same thing in different books. I liked the vampire, but it was completely overshadowed by how annoying the succubus was. BUT, I paid fifty cents for the sequel, and I'm going to read it anyway.

Silly, sexy fun - but the heroine, Jacky, takes naivety to a wholebother level. I've never seen a heroine in urban fantasy this slow on the uptake. Jacky is a completely wishy-washy person without any capacity for critical reflection. She has no personality except self-criticism and stubbornness. She has no friends, no parents (?), or any particular interests.

While I find the idea of the story amusing, the incessant slut-shaming from Jacky dampened my enthusiasm significantly.

I wanted something light after getting sucked into a serious/depressing memoir. I didn't have high hopes for this one, but picked it up because the title amused me. And... it was surprisingly not terrible :-). It didn't take itself very seriously, and it was even funny. The succubi thing wasn't overdone (like it easily could have been). It actually reminded me of the Xanth novels (but without the puns) - lighthearted, with an interesting story, cartoonish over-sexed characters that were surprisingly not one-dimensional, and a tendency to poke fun at itself.

Amazing. This book is absolutely amazing. I am completely in love with each and every character in this book, to include the evil nasty ones. I in no way can choose between Zane and Noah...there is no way, so don't even make me.The characters are strong, vibrant, and perfectly written. The plot draws the reader in so deep you won't be able to put the book down until you're done with it, and then you will be itching for the next one 'Succubi Like it Hot'. *SIGH* The writing is witty and hilarious. This book sits on the shelf with my BDB...IT IS THAT GOOD. Everyone, check it out, you will not be disappointed.

Very entertaining read.. I really liked the lead character Jackie. She is thrust into this crazy new world and surprisingly she adapted with no whining ... Which I like. She's tougher than I think she gives herself credit for!

The men... I totally understand her not being able to pick between Noah and Zane lol... They both seem to have very nice... Redeeming qualities.

I'm looking forward to seeing where the next book goes.

Well, I wanted light and fluffy and that's what I got. Several genre tropes were a bit like getting smacked in the face with a dead trout, but the lore premises were original and worked well to justify all the gratuitous sex - which was one of the reasons I read the book. There were a few laughs to be had and, once the world premises were set, the storyline was engaging enough without requiring too much brain power to follow along with.

I hate insipid heroines and that, above all other tropes, wsa difficult for me to take in this book. She smartened up by the end, but until then she was pretty hard to take. Straight out of the Scarlett O'Hara School of "I can't think about that right now, I'll just think about that tomorrow" method of dealing with the unbelievable (and hence screwing things up as she goes) is a frustrating plot device and character trait for me. The secondary femme character whose combination of extreme pragmatism joined with being flippant about everything except shopping and clothing was like being on a rack and being stretched between "you go girl" and "somebody please just shoot me."

I'm going to read the second one to see if the end of this one, which had the primary protagonist smartening up a bit, holds through the next book. If it does, it could shape up to be a decent PNR light read.
