I thought that this was really cute at first, I was so happy with the style. But then things kinda started to go downhill. I don’t mind the hurt/comfort but it just seemed like we didn’t get to know Thane that much. And I didn’t “see” them falling in love. It was like that part was happening off the page.
All in all, a cute read but lacked a bit of depth. I do like the general style and would continue reading this series. I find the group of characters to be fascinating!

An OK read. Nothing really new, but still enjoyable.
I liked both MC's, but I sometimes got really annoyed with Madden who often behaves like a spoiled brat!

I would have wanted to see more of Maddens friends. They seems to be very important to him in the beginning but we never really get to know anything substantial about them or the dynamic of the group. For such a (supposedly) close knit group they surely let go of Madden mighty fast.

I'll probably rad the next installment in the series just to see if it gets better (or at least stays bearable).

This book oscillates between surface level savior rom com, and semi-serious look at power imbalances. I didn't dislike the book, but I wasn't satisfied with it either. Much if it was really inappropriate, which is fine when we were in rom com mode. But giving the characters more depth and analyzing the problematic bits kind if soured the previous stuff. Basically, the story *is* problematic and Neuhold tried to address that, but all it did was highlight it more.

That said, it's an interesting setup for the next books in the series. The friends all had big parts to play.

Madden has a heartbreaking story - both his past and in this book.

It's a little on the shallow/easy side of dealing with your problems, which is a shame, but it's a great couple, and I'm looking forward to reading about the rest of the friends.

Compared to K.M. Nuehold's other series this one didn't quite hit the mark for me.
