Audiobook - 4 stars

Story - 2.5 stars

I have had this series for like forever, finally decided to give it a try.

I found this one just okay, everythig was Insta and happened too fast for me to form a conection with the characters. The writing and the dialogue felt off and stilted.

The audiobok was good, it helped me soldier through the story as I was doing my chores, so that is a plus.

I already have the rest of the books, maybe I will give them a try to see if it improves.

Romance, Tattoos and sexy men

Such a well done story! Madden and Thane are such a great couple. I loved their journey through the book. I loved that the plot was sweet with a touch of angst, kept things interesting for sure. Can’t wait to read more in the series!

1. Actual rating 1.5, but I'm rounding up since I'm still willing to try out more in the series (although it looks to be chock full of dumb names)
2. Wtf was the pacing? Like it switched between the POVs really fast, but then it would reference months passing in the middle of a chapter?
3. And I get they would bond after surviving a tragedy, but basically no time was spent on that despite the instalove

4 stars…
This would get 5 stars if I liked Madden even a little bit by the end of the book… I hated him. Hated him. What the hell?! His addiction and mental illnesses don’t give him a pass to be a terrible partner. I honestly just feel bad for Thane for accepting his apology and having to deal with this asshole.

2/5 on spice. 1/5 on kink. 1/5 on tears.

I liked the characters, plot…everything; but for some reason, I wasn’t blown away by the story. The balance was off a bit… Madden and Thane met at a club where there was a shooting and Madden got injured. The story explored his recovery and the demons he had to face to get to the healthy him. Overall, I loved their relationship but felt it could have been more and I would have loved to see more of the friends interaction - they all seemed cool and very loving.

I didn’t mind this but it moved too fast and some pieces fit into place too perfectly. It was a lot crammed into ~250 pages.
