I really love these graphic novels they really give you the feel for Dresden Files with all the fun of a comic.

It's one of two novel adaptations ([b:Jim Butcher's Dresden Files: Storm Front Vol 1 #2|22394962|Jim Butcher's Dresden Files Storm Front Vol 1 #2|Mark Powers|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1401755307l/22394962._SY75_.jpg|41816485] being the other) and I think the weaker of the two. Still a lot of fun though.

The agents just look weird. It's comic book muscles/proportions compared to otherwise mostly normal looking people? This isn't even the worst case.

Conversely, I love the look they gave Chauncy:

The glasses!

Also, did you know that Dresden is supposed to be around 6'9"? That's insanely tall and probably way overdone. But they do occasionally emphasize it when you can actually see him standing with others.

Honestly, that's probably not enough of a difference.

Oh, and remember the nudity with convenient smoke from [b:Jim Butcher's Dresden Files: Storm Front Vol 1 #2|22394962|Jim Butcher's Dresden Files Storm Front Vol 1 #2|Mark Powers|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1401755307l/22394962._SY75_.jpg|41816485]? Yeah, Fool Moon has werewolves. There's soooo much more. Mostly hidden by shadows or abstract lines. It's to the point of amusing:

Fool Moon finally done. The first 2 books of the Dresden files were actually among my least favorites. Overall, a good comic based on the book.

The subsequent volumes are based on separate cases, which I know nothing about so looking forward to reading those.

Great to see scenes from the book drawn out but the drawing is terrible

This was super short and followed directly from the last one (really, no reason to have this as two separate books). I don’t know why but it seems that tons of characters were introduced and made this tiny book hard to keep track of. That was not necessary. Oh well, the drawings were good.

Man this volume just got way more intense. I knew what was going to happen, I've read the book, but still, it captured my attention. I thought it played out nicely in the visual medium of graphic novels. Once again, I was pleasantly surprised with how great this was.

I liked the visuals near the end, especially when Dresden turned into a wolf. It was so violent and bloody but not in a disturbing way. It had strong panels and great drawings. Again, not completely in my style, but I appreciated the comic book style of these drawings It felt very "Watchmen" or some of the Batman comics I've also seen.

Again, I really liked this. I want more and am going to be searching for the other Dresden Files graphic novels.

Conclusion: Keep

An enjoyable graphic novel adaptation. Somewhat felt that it didn’t capture the full ending of the actual book.

Fool Moon by Jim Butcher introduced Butcher's ideas of werewolves to the reader and I thought his take on the different types of werewolves to be really unique. There are about 3 or 4 different types of werewolves and they are all different from each other in strength, appearance, and origin. I feel that Fool Moon is showing the reader what Harry's limits and powers really are and it is setting up boundaries for the rest of the series. The story was fun but at times wasn't as engaging and mysterious as the first book. This one was more action and less mystery. I enjoyed it and will be continuing the series, of course.
