I really enjoyed the first book, and quite enjoyed the second but the length of this book became unwieldy. I appreciate the connections made in this book (no spoilers here) and enjoy some of the characters but I've realized that - aside from Ruhn - I don't like most of Crescent City characters. Whereas I really like a lot of the ACOTAR characters.

I liked this book much more than the first two (and especially more than the first one, lol). I think that's partially because this book feels pretty divorced from the modern setting, which just doesn't work for me, and because we get a lot of answers about how these worlds and lore are connected, which to me is the most interesting part about the series. Maas is smart to get a lot of exposition and summarizing through Bryce's interactions in Prythian, and the way the storylines move quickly kept me more engaged than in the previous two books. This book definitely is way too long - truly no book needs to be almost 1000 books, lol - but I got really invested in the relationships and the found family of it all, which Maas does really well across her multiverse.

I'm intrigued that there's going to be another book within this series because it really felt like everything got wrapped up, but I guess we'll see. /spoiler>
