'The First Cat in Space Ate Pizza' by Mac Barnett with illustrations by Shawn Harris is a graphic novel about a lunar crisis and the feline who might just save us all.

When a large part of the moon is discovered as missing, a mission to save the moon sends a cat and a peculiar robot to find the culprits and save the day. Along the way, the duo meets a collection of oddball characters who become allies and enemies.

This over the top adventure is laugh out loud funny. The situations are just silly and I really enjoyed reading this. This is a great read for kids and kids at heart.

I received a review copy of this graphic novel from HarperCollins Children's Books and NetGalley. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

I’m not the intended audience for The First Cat in Space Are Pizza, and I haven’t read a lot of graphic novels,  but I think the story was fun - compelling for kids and laugh out loud funny for even adults who might be reading it to kids. Both the artwork and the words were well crafted and clever.

The characters didn't wow me, but the story was super fun regardless!
