I find it hard to fairly rate a book which I have not enjoyed but is clearly not aimed at me. I am not in the 8 - 12 age range recommended on the back cover.
I could choose to not rate this book, but the ratings are for my own use.

Honestly, it was ok. It is definitely for children. For a book named after a cat, though, there wasn’t a lot about the cat.

First of all, I am not a graphic novel person. I love that they exist in the world, but I just don't love them. They certainly count as reading, kids should be allowed to read them, they are a great thing...for other people. But, this one rocks. I guffawed through the whole thing. The art is hilarious, but the words are what separates it. The writing just sings. So glad I took the time to read it.

As much as I love Mac Barnett's other books, I can't recommend this one. It's too long and I found it dull.
