Just re-read this book in anticipation of book 4 coming out soon. Still my favorite in the series, mainly because I've always been fascinated by the seven ancient wonders.
Very silly but a lot of fun. I’m especially tickled by Reilly’s earnest overuse of italics.

A ragtag group of international adventurers battle US and European teams to find an ancient capstone which will bring absolute power to whoever puts it back together in specific circumstances. Very entertaining however the US military is made out to be into a bunch of mercenaries and some plot points are unrealistic.

This book was like Indiana Jones meets an old Batman cartoon meets The Expendables. Half my reading time was spent figuring out if the scenario was a comedy or a drama. Then all the sudden in the last few chapters the characters started swearing which never came out in the first 3/4 of the book. The sound Phwack was actually used. Not my cup of tea.
