Suggested by a friend and was not disappointed. I shelve this next to my Clive Cussler books in the historical action/adventure genre. I found that the main character being Australian with a entourage of other non-Americans very intriguing. Jack West Jr put me in the mind frame of Indiana Jones, Benjamin Franklin Gates, Robert Langdon, and Dirk Pitt. I at first thought the sketches of the different puzzles, tracks, and room layouts would be distracting but it made the store that more vivid in my mind. I killed this in about five hours, I could NOT put it down.

Not my cup of tea. Action is all well and good, but it should contain some heart. I did not care for any of these characters and the story was unbelievable to say the least. I had trouble with the text too. The variation of sentence length down to the one-word sentences were vexing. I know it's supposed to keep your interest and make story flow, but there were too many other problems for that to happen. Too many italics and exlamation marks as well. The world could have just gone under by the end for all I cared.

Really didn't enjoy this book and it was a chore to finish it, which books shouldn't be. The story was all over the place, the characters were really stereotypical and surprisingly it really wasn't that well written. I will say though, I am intrigued to now how the rest of the trilogy will flesh out, but I don't think I will be reading anymore. Good for you guys who found it a good read, but it really, really wasn't my cup of tea.

This book is a combination between Indiana Jones and National Treasure. An adventurous novel that involves the Seven Wonders of the World. It was adventurous and hey, I learned something.
