Some Wall Street douche along the way did too much cocaine and decided this book should be analogized to business strategy and someone should tell the Patagonia vest chest-pounding dude bros that perhaps it’s just a book about ancient Chinese warfare.

I read this to complete a book bingo with reading a classic. It was free on Audible. I guess I don't have a use for it or need the strategies. Overall, I was just left bored.
Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War,” is arguably one of the most quoted books in history. Although some of his tactics don’t translate to modern military warfare, his philosophies on knowing one’s enemy and preparing for battle can be used in numerous other areas such as business strategic planning. “The Art of War” is a must read and a quick read.

No es mucho lo que pueda decir...es un libro de política y funciona para una sola cosa...aprender de política y de guerra. No más, no menos.
The Art of War, universally known for its wisdom and helpfulness for everyone that wants to be successful. So are those claims true? Simply put: 没有!
For those of you that don't know mandarin or were too lazy to use google translate those squiggles up there mean no. And rightly so because The Art of War is an out of date, bullshit philosophy book written by some Chinese dude from a bygone era. And by bygone I mean BYGONE. Even the war tactics in this book (which it kind of is all about) went out of date with the invention of gunpowder firearms. But we don't see generals reading this book, we see politicians and businessmen reading this book and claiming that it's good for those kinds of ambitions too. Again simply put: It's not.
The Art of War is peculiar. Peculiar in the way a 5-year-old nonsensical writing is peculiar. It's borderline gibberish without an expert giving paragraphs of long explanations which don't explain anything because even the Chinese at the time couldn't explain this book. Some of the writings in this book are idiotic. They make no sense and even the interpreter says so. Simply put: all those famous people hailing this book don't know what they're talking about.
Useless for strategical planning of wars, even more useless for anything else I wonder how this book still has readers. It does have some interesting saying but nothing that you wouldn't come up with by yourself. It isn't genius, far from it. It isn't even useful, at least from my perspective (I don't know maybe I'm an idiot who can't understand ancient Chinese philosophical warfare planning). 2/5, wouldn't really recommend it to people who have other items on their to-read list.
