what a cliff hanger! i can't wait for the fourth book!!
I read this when I was barely out of primary or something like that and I probably shouldn't have but I'm so glad I did because this is peak. The villains are less charismatic than the Three Stooges for the most part but they make up for it by having Remus Crux feature in this book and I adore him in the way that he's the shittiest guy alive.
I really love the climax of this book and the final battle, it's doing descriptions of stuff that is a new height of brutality and fun. Truly this might be my favourite of the trilogy just for the final battle, Murder Rose is one of my favourite one note characters she's so fun to read about how she's beating someone up.
Anyway yeah the Faceless Ones trilogy is so good. Out.

Not really sure how I feel about this series. Really liked the first one, could not even mildly concentrate on the second one, enjoyed this one but I still have no idea what any of the characters other than Skulduggery and Valkyrie are even doing. Gonna try the next one because I'm interested to see how Valkyrie behaves but ultimately I'm either going to have to make peace with finding the supporting cast utterly forgettable or stop reading the series. Definitely recommend listening to the audio though, the narrator does a great job.
[edit 5/7/21: Gonna move this series to the abandoned shelf. They're ok while I'm reading them but then after I'm done I just kind of stare at the next one in annoyance so I think it's time to stop trying to force it.]

Skulduggery has got to be one of the most entertaining mentor figures I have ever read, and I just love Val as well as all of the suporting cast. I love how every tangable this world is, and how real the characters are, as well as how strong the fear of the faceless ones is. All in all, fantastic book.
