Was this book even written by the same author? The language had completely evolved- like the author grew up or something. The plot became so much more convoluted and dare I say interesting with true character motives rather than just the overused "destroy the world". This story wasn't predictable in the slightest. The plot twist got me completely off guard, so much so it made the last plot twist, although textbook as it was, a surprise as I was not expecting a double whammy. Character development was so much more prominent and I feel like I got to know the characters so much better than the two other books combined. It's like the first two books are rated U and this one shifted right up to 16+. Crazy. Still weird romantic suggestions between skulduggery and valkyrie though. I think the most intriguing and lowkey scary thing is the reflection business- what is she hiding?

[Re-read from October 4 to November 3, 2016]
What an ending! This was just as much fun the second time around. :)
[Read from December 10, 2013 to February 9, 2014]
Amazing, which I've come to expect from this series, and especially this narrator! The third book in this series follows Valkyrie and Skulduggery (and Co.) as they attempt to prevent the return of the Faceless Ones. New and old friends and foes pepper the story with humor, thrill, and excitement. They are each unique and immediately recognizable; and fun to listen to! Loved, loved, loved this book!

stuff is starting to get serious! unfortunately this means less humour, which is what drew me in, but i remember eating up every plot twist as a child, and I don't remember most of them except about the Big Bad (iykyk), so should hopefully be fun? I really want to reread this series in completion once so I feel justified in owning most of it (shoutout to that bookseller in the market, giving me slay deals for being a repeat customer at like, 10)

First off, how dare this book end the way it does, but gods it was good. The lack of plot armour these characters have is astounding. The largest plot twist at the end I did not see coming and was quite excited about it. It made perfect sense and was just an interesting literary choice. I cried when a certain character came back into the story and the whole book was written very well. There are a few words in there that are larger and more complex which is good practice for young readers to extend their vocabularies. Just over an all, a great book.
This series is great, although Stephanie is one of the more annoying characters I've come across. The atmosphere is made childish by the fact that Stephanie is only a child, and seems to think of herself as older than she is. However, that is the way that 13 year olds think, and so this series probably appeals more to people in that age group.
I rated this book slightly less than the others mainly because I didn't like the ending, but overall, Skulduggery Pleasant is a great, fun read and I can't wait until the next book comes out.
