Excellent new series from the amazing Heather Renee! This one just hooked me from the first chapter! And Em and Cait’s friendship is just like so many of my friend and I who are best friends but have never met in person! Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Probably one of the worst written but weirdly addictive werewolf romances I have read in a long time. Make it make sense.
The writing was nothing special which is why this book will never be more than a 3 stars. The plot wasn’t overly original and some of the dialogue made me cringe, but this book was such an easy read and I finished it in one sitting. I was interested enough in the characters and the plot to keep reading.
I haven’t got a clue if I’ll bother with the next book but this one was just okay and I guess i’ll have to see if i’m in a reading slump at the time of release.

The main character is nannying in Australia and gets a weird mark on her arm in the ocean and then meets a handsome stranger. ... turns out she has special powers! and is the mate to the guy who showed up at the beginning. Tropey trope trope.
It's readable and there's a bunch of 'we don't know what that mark means... but you're special'. throw in the rules about mates, etc. This book again, was readable, but it's not breaking new ground. Cait is almost likeable. It's a weird line to walk, right, between "fated mates are hot" and "who on earth would just accept it?" but for me, she pushes back too hard. C'mon, this is not realistic fiction! But of course, it ends with a cliff hanger and drama. Not sure I'll be on to book two or not.

I have read everything Heather has wrote and loved everyone of her books. Wolf Kissed with Cait and Roman has to be one of my favorites to date it is just so good
This is a good series starter, with a decent amount of world and character building happening. The pace wasn’t slow, but it definitely takes it’s time in laying things out. Cait is thrust into a world of wolf shifters and fated mates after a mark mysteriously appears on her wrist, and her best friend Ember, who she’s only known via online means but has grown very close with, immediately intervenes when she sees it. Cait also encounters Roman, who she soon learns is Ember’s pack Alpha, and apparently her fated mate. But how can a wolf shifter be mated to a human. And Cait is not at all keen on the idea that her fate is pre-determined and she doesn’t get a say in her future. As she grapples with learning about this newly acquired magic and the potential for a fated mate, pack politics grow more and more strained, culminating in an unexpected power grab that leaves everything upended.
This is definitely not intended as a standalone story. The characters could probably use a bit more fleshing out as well, but I am thinking that will be part of their development over the story arc. The FMC is very strong willed, and craves her independence, but she also shows deep seated insecurities in her decisions, which leads me to think that her fierce independence stems at least in part from abandonment issues, and not having family or many friends to rely on. The MMC is a new Alpha, trying to prove himself to his pack, while trying to maneuver through the strong pull of his wolf to his fated mate. Since he is much more open the idea, it not being foreign or unusual for shifters, he is quicker to accept it, and Cait’s potential rejection of the bond definitely poses a risk to his emotions and strength within the pack. It’s precarious on both sides, and there’s a lot of tension and indecision woven throughout the book that definitely doesn’t go away by the end. If anything, it ramps up, and we are left with a cliffhanger that is intriguing enough to keep me on the hook for more.

Wolf Kissed is the first book in a paranormal trilogy which has taken a fresh new approach to wolf shifters and rejected mates. This book is a fun, fast paced read that is engaging and draws the reader into the story. The characters are strong, dynamic and relatable which makes this rejected mates story so heartrending.
Heather Renee has created amazing characters that maintain the balance between alpha and caring and snarky and strong. Cait has been blindsided both by her unexpected marking but also by the existence of wolf shifters. Add to this her acquiring a mate, Roman, it is easy to relate to her feelings of being overwhelmed and her rejection of her mate. However, it is not hard to empathise with Roman who has finally found his mate and his devastation at her rejection of him. I also loved Embry and Vaughn and would love to see more of them in the future.
Wolf Kissed is an exciting urban fantasy set within Heather Renee's Mystics and Mayhem world. It does follow on from the Broken Court Series but can be read without reading them first. Wolf Kissed was a great start to Luna Marked series but be warned it ends on a killer cliff hanger. Book two Wolf Taken is already released and the series is complete on September 23, 2021 with Wolf Mated. I would recommend this book for readers who enjoy paranormal romance, shifters, rejected mates, angst & mystery, urban fantasy and alpha males with a soft side.
