ooohhhkay this was...good, in a light too sexual way, with me having many questions about shaving, the hard days of the month, STDs and much more...
3/4
A bit cheesy but still enjoyable enough. Naughty scenes are well written but the strained relationship is a bit cliche

Liked it okay, but maybe not enough to continue with the series, and certainly not enough to buy them. At times I was reminded of Kit Rocha's Beyond series, Mad Max, and The Walking Dead - all things I like, but there wasn't enough of an original twist on the idea. I wanted to know more about the natural (?) disaster that befell Earth - I think there is an ocean running through the middle of North America now, but I was never sure exactly what the geography of this land was.
Hudson seemed like your general super-tough but vulnerable and sheltered heroine, and Connor was kind of a dick a lot of the time. Everyone else in his group had more of a personality and I'd like to learn more about them, but only if they don't turn out to be tortured, close-mouthed tough guys like Con.

Well, that was quite the ride. I'd been reading some of the tamer romances and this one was right back in with the down and dirty. If that's what you're looking for, it's entertaining. A dystopian future where the Outlaws have no inhibitions. Hudson escaping her fate of a forced marriage she takes up with the group and is immediately hot to trot for the broody leader.
A nice quick read, I enjoyed enough to check out the next in the series.

As an overall I found this book enjoyable, however elements of it were somewhat disappointing.
I was looking for more of a dystopian story and less of a "fuck-it-all" sex romp. I definitely wanted more depth. I take full blame for my lack of enjoyment - I set expectations for what this book should be, instead of allowing the author to tell me the story.
I did not connect well to either of the main characters - I think this might have been a problem where their actions didn't always match their thoughts about themselves or each other. For example: the leading lady refers (many times) to the leading man as being "ruthless". Not once does he showcase that (imo) ... he's hard, yes ... demanding even ... but ruthless? Nope.
I think I will read the next in the series, as I liked most of the side characters more than the main couple and I'm interested to see how the larger story-arch will play out.

DNF..loved the premise but the balance between sexy time and plot just wasn't working for me.

This one surprised me. I'm not usually a spicy spicy spicy reader, but this is one of romance group reads in our Facebook book club so I decided to give it a go. Not gonna lie... the steam had me squirming at times. but this author did a pretty dang good job of mixing the spice with plot, which is something that when I have read books on the spicier side those books seem to be lacking.
Ah man, I freakin' loved it. This is the 3rd or 4th book I've read by Elle Kennedy and every one of them hits the spot for me. Her clean, crisp writing wraps me up in the story. No distractions, no extraneous or boring parts. Just plain good story telling.
