OH MY GOSH…you guys! This book was so so good! It so entertaining, I didn’t even realize it was almost over when I was 80% of the way through! I loved every single sentence.
Stella was brash and guarded, with some excellent snark, but at the same time, she had a vulnerable streak that went straight to her core.
And then there’s Aiden - seriously could this man be any more perfect? He’s quirky, kind, optimistic as I’ll get out, but with some hidden darkness inside as well.
Aaand the chemistry was

Fun, emotional, and dirty, just as a Christmas romance novel should be.
Grumpy/Sunshine trope!
First book I’ve read by Tessa Bailey and it did not disappoint… I can’t wait to read more! The characters have a unique background story and great development.

Spice Level:
Reverse grumpy/sunshine. Not really my trope but I kinda like this one because the sunshine is not too bright.

This one gets 3.5-4 stars, but Im rounding up on here cause there is no halves still.
I still find the non pg pages to be a bit much for my personal liking but otherwise I really enjoy Tessa's writing style. It's fun, it bounces right off the page, it's easy to follow along while still having some elements of surprise and it always has a happy ending, which when reading rom-coms is definitely the key.
I loved the semi Ted Lasso inspired stud of a leading man, and having an ex-convict as our leading lady was a welcome veering off the usual 'decorator' path, even if she did become a window dresser it was refreshing to have someone less than perfect with what felt like real problems in a rom-com, and especially in a Christmas rom-com.
Would recommend for a good short little escape if you need one.
