I really liked the plot and the two main characters, but this slow burn turned into a dumpster fire once the steam fully kicked in.
Isn’t this author sort of known for her love scenes..? Because yuck.
I present the pinnacle example of aforementioned cringe: His member was “thickening faster than whisked gravy over a high heat.”

I went into this kind of blind, only knowing it was a holiday novel set in New York that got freaky sometimes. Idk if it was just me but Aidan was so CRINGE like I really couldn't take him serious the entire story. Their story overall felt rushed. I do not reccomend the audiobook because of how bad I found Aidan's voice-- for it not to be cringe that needs to be left to your imagination. Overall, Bailey has a great pen when it comes to the smut scenes, but thats about it. There were only like 2 really vivid scenes in this book, it could have benefitted from more just because those were the best parts. It was an easy read, very binge-able, but is it... good? ehhhh

Surprisingly delightful. The characters really kept my attention. I loved it
Eh 3 stars
Probs shouldn’t have ready two Tessa Bailey books in a row. It was a quick fast read. I liked Stella a lot. Aiden was meh mostly bc I couldn’t take him seriously with that accent in the audiobook. I did like Stella’s growth and personality and thought process much better than Aiden tho.
Some of the declarations of love and sex scenes were like too cheesy for me and it happened a bit too fast. I didn’t feel like things were too fast or insta love in the Bellinger Sister series for some reason when this one bothered me so I’m not sure why it felt different

Meh
I found so many things of this book beyond stupid:
- I don't even know if "window dresser" is an actual job and if it is, it is stupid
- The whole premise is like the author went "how random can i make it?"
- The romance is too fast, and when he is like "i don't want to pressure her" no shit sherlock, it's been two weeks and she's spent like 4 years in prison, chill for a second! and then he goes "i fucked up so bad, i don't know if i'll get her back" I was ready to give him the prize for drama queen of the year, omg so obnoxious
- The way the conflict is solved? I mean the whole book the MC is like "i know I have to stand up for myself and believe in myself" and guess what she does? she stands up for herself and believes in herself... who would've thought?
** also the guy kinda pressuring her into a committed relationship after not even a month of knowing each other, really reminded me of her other book [b:It Happened One Summer|55659629|It Happened One Summer (Bellinger Sisters, #1)|Tessa Bailey|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1604991895l/55659629._SY75_.jpg|86795919] and I hated that element
