I've started this book twice and haven't finished it. I intend to though. It's 3-4stars for now.

It was too graphic for me.

Content aside, the book was tough to read. The point of views kept switching which was confusing as a reader and oftentimes, everything moved very slowly as almost a biographical story rather than a work of fiction. The story itself though was fascinating, it taught me so much more than any history lesson on World War 2 and makes me want to visit Prague and Poland that much more.

The Librarian of Auschwitz-3⭐️- I’m not saying this wasn’t entertaining, I just expected it to be about the secret library and classes that the prisoners formed to keep children’s moral up. Instead this was more about escapes and the prisoner uprising in Auschwitz. There was also so many POV’s that it got super muddy and I forgot who was who and which plot line went to which person. I appreciate that the author interviewed the real Dita (the real librarian) but I think this book was doing too much.

Obviously such a tragic story and you learn about the fate of many individuals. It wasn't the easiest of reads because of the amount of people mentioned but well written that you can't help but just feel that they all went through.

I love historical fiction, especially historical fiction from World War 2, and the Holocaust. However, I didn’t love this one. The story itself was amazing and that kept me around, but the book didn’t really keep me engaged the way I would’ve wanted it to.
