This was an OK book for me. I liked Evan, and would be interested in reading more about him (I'm glad it's the "Dr. Evan Wilding" series). Addie wasn't my favorite, and I felt like the will they/won't they friendship/more than friends piece felt a little forced. I liked Patrick and Diana as supporting characters. The mystery at the heart of the story confused me in parts (the Runes were complicated and there were a lot of red herrings), but I suspected Rhinehart being connected somehow to the murder (otherwise, there was really very little point to him being in the story), though I will admit I was not expecting the murderer to be who it was. There were also pieces I felt like were rushed through that I would have liked to have had explained (why was Evan targeted? What crime against the earth did he commit? Or was he selected for another reason?). I would probably continue this series.
I loved this. The characters were great and I loved learning about runes and kennings and seeing the riddles solved. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to be published!

I listened to this book on audible and really enjoyed the whole adventure. Evan is a compelling character with a lot of knowledge. The author does a great job making him larger than life and you want to see him win. The author’s knowledge of Viking history is compelling and makes you want to learn more about the past. I can’t wait to enjoy the next book.
