“When you don’t have much family left you’ll do anything to protect what you have.” This powerful quote from School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins was ultimately the moral and taught the lesson with the aid of ghosts, undead, witches, and Prodigium’s worst nightmare…the Brannicks. This spin-off of Hex Hall stars Isolde Brannick and goes into a completely different direction then fans of Hex Hall would expect. It left me feeling unfulfilled. The storyline was interesting and set at a quick pace; however, the characters failed to measure up. Ultimately the shoes of Sophie Mercer were too big to fill.
This was a fun, quick, easy read. The mystery was interesting, I liked the characters, and it set up nicely for the rest of the series. My only criticism is that the way the mystery was resolved was convienent. I'm interested in seeing how the romance will play out and will definitely be reading the next book.
Hex Hall universe has me intrigued. I wish I could conjure up a few more books from this world.

This book was fun and an easy read, also a quick one, I liked the character and the story overall.
Although I prefer the Hex Hall series (but yet I count HH as one of my favorite series ever ) it was a good book :)

At first I was bummed that we switched characters, but Izzy is pretty great, and I quickly found that it wasn't a problem.
Very funny book! I actually picked it up thinking it was a continuation of the previous series, with the same characters, and although I was confused at first I was not disappointing in the wonderful story that followed. Just the right sprinkling of romance on top of a story about a BA girl who has to go undercover at a typical high school.
CANNOT wait for this. I'm seriously excited for "School Spirits" :) I'm looking forward to reading this kickbutt, sarcastic heroine's story.
