idk this one was weird! I wasn't as interested in Izzy as a protagonist after three books with Sophie. The plot got off to a really slow start and for a while I thought maybe I wouldn't bother finishing it. It picked up midway through but then certain things about the ending were really off. And I know it isn't this book's fault but the fact that so much felt unresolved and we're never going to get another book in this series makes me so mad.
OHNYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD! At first, I was kind of scared that it wouldn't be as good as Hex Hall, but it was EXCELLENT!!!!! Great job Rachel Hawkins!!!!!
Rachel Hawkins never fails to entertain. I loved this book!!! The only problem is that I want more!

This was an interesting continuation. I wish we got more in the universe, finding out what happened to Finn would be nice. I feel like the series got cut short.

School Spirit is a spin off to Rachel Hawkins series, Hex Hall. Now I adored Hex Hall I thought it was fun and smart with kick ass characters so of course I was excited for the spin off and a little bit nervous incase it didn’t live up to the original series. And while the book was not perfect there was a few small things that annoyed me. Overall, School Spirit is a great fun read that is packed with excitement.

Rachel Hawkins puts a new spin on the teen monster hunter genre. Izzy Brannick is the last in a line of supernatural hunters and now she faces her biggest challenge yet: high school. Izzy finds a home with a group of misfits and must balance her friendships with her real goal, resolving a violent haunting at the school.
The story is fast-paced and sucked me in from the first page. The characters share hilarious dialogue that made me laugh out loud. The book is reminiscent of the best episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."
Can't wait to read the next one!

I loved the [b:Hex Hall|5287473|Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1)|Rachel Hawkins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1368393885s/5287473.jpg|5354884] trilogy. But this? This was horrible. I'm not even sure how this was published. Hawkins turned a perfectly good, if not fantastic series into... whatever the hell this was.
You know what I wanted? I wanted a romance between Torin and Isolde.
You know what I wanted? I wanted this book to not be so freaking dull.
You know what I wanted? I wanted to throw this book out my window.
You know what I did? Like an idiot, I read all 304 pages of it, thinking it would get better.
The characters:
There's Isolde, who has to be the most boring main character I have ever read about. Although Sophie was 'badass and sarcastic', which seems to be the trend in YA fantasy or paranormal books, she was fun to read about. Things that were fun about Isolde:
- Her name (you gotta admit, it's pretty cool)
- Uhhh...
- That's about it?
- She did nothing except for watch sappy teen operas, literally
I wanted to strangle her for being insipid.
Then there's Torin, who was a 100 times more interesting, being a 400 year old warlock stuck in Isolde's mirror, but whatever. Apparently Hawkins doesn't do interesting characters, because he played no role in this story.

Another fun book in the [b:Hex Hall|5287473|Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1)|Rachel Hawkins|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1368393885s/5287473.jpg|5354884] series!
In this spin-off, our main character is Izzy Brannick, from a family that has been hunting monsters for centuries. I did love Izzy, but not as much as I liked Sophie. Also with Hex Hall being a trilogy and this being just one book, I obviously don't get to know Izzy as well.
One of my main problems with this one actually- there were some things left unresolved and now I'll never get to know. I'll never get to see Izzy and Dex's relationship grow and that really bugs me, you have no idea. Even though they weren't as snarky as Sophie and Archer, Izzy and Dex were still pretty nice, I liked them together.
Another thing was, this book was mostly a ghost story with some witch going-ons. There wasn't much of the whole prodigium world. I'm not complaining, it was just a different view than [b:Hex Hall|5287473|Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1)|Rachel Hawkins|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1368393885s/5287473.jpg|5354884].
I enjoyed this book- it was quick and fun, as I often feel with Rachel Hawkin's books but I'm just really torn up over no sequel.
