Loved this novella telling the story of Roger’s mother and father!
Kindle
This was the first Outlander novella I've read and I plan to go collect them all!

It’s tragic and kinda unnecessary but I appreciate Diana making effort to tie this storyline up!!
I enjoyed the story of Roger's parents but I was looking for a longer book about their entire lives, not just how they died. She also referenced something that happened in Echo of the Bone but I didn't remember it so I feel like I should go back and reread to see where it fits in.
Just found a couple of novellas in the Outlander universe that I have not seen before! I loved the story, and I want MORE MORE MORE! A lovely little diversion from the main plot(s) of the Outlander series. Now I have to go back and see how and when this one fits in to the series.
It was okay. Good detail but I had to go back and review some stuff from previous books before I could really get all the characters. Also I had forgotten that I had read this in the George R.R. Martin anthology. It was an interesting story but way too short for my liking.
Sweet little novella that gives us a bit of a background on Roger. I was wondering what happened after the rescue and how it could be that Roger still did not grow up with his father.
The answer when it is given at the end of the book is both sweet and heartbreaking at the same time.
I am not usually a fan of sad endings but this one was just perfect in a strange way.

I loved it. It adds a number of details to the Outlander stories that I hadn't even realized I was missing, and wanted to know! And they is one really special element that I won't discuss because it is too delicious to experience it while reading the story. Thank you, Diana! Keep filling in the niches of the story as the opportunities arise!
