I enjoyed these stories - good background to some of the things that happened. Stand out was likely the development of Elena and Clay's relationship.

This is my first exposure to Kelley Armstrong. I bought this book for a dollar, and it's worth at least it's cover price. I don't know if the rest of her books are as intriguing and well-written, but I definitely intend to find out!

As for the stories themselves, they are satisfying, compelling, emotionally evocative, and very enjoyable, not even knowing the larger context. This book is well worth the investment of time and money!

An anthology of eight short stories in the Women of the Otherworld urban fantasy series with Tales of the Otherworld the second in the Otherworld's short stories collection.

The Series
"Rebirth", 0.1
"Bewitched", 0.8
"Birthright", 0.5
"Beginnings", 0.6
"Expectations", 0.9
"Ghosts", 01.1
"Wedding Bell Hell", 4.5
"The Case of El Chupacabra", 6.5

The Stories
A couple of the tales are somewhat independent; the rest fill in background on the principal characters in Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series.

"Rebirth" tells of Aaron's introduction to the undead life; Aaron, today, is a co-delegate on the Council with Cassandra.

"Bewitched" is the story of how Kristof and Eve met, their singular courtship, and why Eve left.

"Birthright" chronicles Logan's introduction to the Danvers Pack.

"Beginnings" finally gives us the background on Clay and Elena's courtship ending with his biting her.

"Expectations" occurs before Lucas meets Paige and after Eve has left Kristof. Lucas has been told of a grimoire held by Eve Levine and he finally decides that he will have to steal it from her if only to keep the Cabals from going after Eve. (Savannah is old enough to be going to school.)

"Ghosts" is Jeremy's remembrances of the aftermath of Clay biting Elena. It takes place during "Bitten" after Clay has gone up to Toronto to protect Elena who is living with Philip because Daniel and his gang has attacked the Pack.

"Wedding Bell Hell" is the funniest story in this collection. It's the weeks before Lucas and Paige's wedding and Benicio is determined to "help" somehow, anyhow...

"The Case of El Chupacabra" fills in the blanks of how Lucas and Paige got their hands on their new Portland offices. It also signals the start of Sean's comeout.

This review is for Bewitched & Beginnings which were both fantastic, heartbreaking, and bittersweet.

Bewitched is about Eve & Kristof- their beginnings and how they got past the prejudice warlocks and witches feel for one another and fell in love. Both Eve and Kristof are very badass but they are so sweet and open with one another. As usual the cabals screwed things up for them... grrrrr.

Beginnings is about Clay and Elena's initial romance - I recommend reading Clay's backstory before so you can get a feel for how surprised everyone is when he falls in love. In many ways Clay is more wolf than human and it is entertaining to see him navigating the "real" world and getting to know Elena. If you've read these books we know how this story ends - which again is incredibly heart-wrenching and leads to the events of Bitten. I love love love Clay and it is really gives us a new perspective of how the "event" went down which made me feel for him even more.

Lots more prequels and one 'new' story featuring Lucas and Paige. Probably not a great read for non-fans but I loved the back stories. Makes me want to start the series from the beginning again.

Very lightweight, had nothing else to read while on a ride, so made do with this for a short while before getting to fed up, then went for a walk instead.

Think was an interesting book. I like getting a glimpse into the side stories that we read about in the series. A great addition to the Women of the Otherworld series.

Re-read 8/2/13 - and of course, want more stories of Jeremy.
