This was a difficult one for me to get into. I've read more recent Bennett books and I like her writing style but in this case there was a lot of telling and not much showing, especially at the beginning. I felt her writing style was as fluid, and checking the publication date suggests she'd developed a lot since then. The characters were both likeable, the plot straight forward but overall, for me, it was pretty 'meh'.

I loved this and I wish it was longer!
we follow fmc danny and mmc ryan. they come from completely different worlds and from the outside they couldn’t look more different. we go along as they find each other and fall in love after looking deeper than what’s on the outside.
alsoooo - hockey college romance?! there’s nothing better

Realized the characters were younger than I prefer and it felt a little like "I've never been poor, this is how poor people work, right?"

I thought this was very cute and really liked the characters. The only thing I didn't like about the book was that Danny and Ryan were not together more than they were (time wise) in the story.
