This was a very fast read but it was enjoyable. I believe it was Sawyer’s first book, and you can tell that whilst reading, in comparison to her recent books, as her writing has evolved.
That’s not to say anything bad about this story though. I liked both Ryan and Danny, and I liked how he accepted her immediately for who she was and didn’t fall into line the way his parents, or should I say his mother, wanted him to.
I like his friend Mike, and I liked Danny’s friend Paula. Some really crappy characters in this too, who were meant to be easy villains to dislike.
I sped through this one and I look forward to continuing the series.

Waaay too much (unrealistic) Drama that got weirdly resolved. Too sweet. Also, I did not like the tense this was written in.
tbh i started this book because i craved a sweet hockey romance. and that’s exactly what it is, it’s super cute, adorable and sweet, but i must admit it’s way too short and the relationship is so messed up, the characters went from “hi” to “i love you” in the blink of an eye, istg they were already thinking of their deep feelings for one another when they knew each other for like 13 hours. so yeah, not really what i was waiting for (i had just reread some of the off campus series by elle kennnedy and i just wanted something a bit similar unfortunately it wasn’t).
Standard rich hockey player/poor waitress college romance.

Summary: Ryan Burnham is the privileged son of a U.S. Congressman and captain of his university’s hockey team. While he is on the verge of fulfilling his dreams to play in the NHL, his parents want him on a different course. One he is expected to accept for the sake of his family’s public image.
Forced her to abandon her music career after the heart breaking death of her parents, Danny Cross exists on the opposite side of the tracks from Ryan. She is struggling to make her own way, working two jobs, attending college part time and volunteering in a homeless shelter. She is on a mission to build her own success.
With a chance meeting, their vastly different worlds collide, causing each to evaluate whether they are truly on the correct path to self-fulfillment and happiness. Can their relationship survive? Particularly when others are against them every step of the way. A lot can happen in just ten short days...
Favorite and Least Favorite part: This book was okay, if unmemorable. I don't have a favorite but I also don't have a least favorite, I simply can't remember this book.

Not super complex but very sweet and enjoyable. Steamy scale 2.5 of 5 (Audible)
This story was beyond adorable! I was a big fan of Danny. It was nice to read a character that wasn't described to be so cookie cutter in appearance. The author did a great job making her unique. All in all, I thought this was a very sweet and unique read. Perfect short little story for everyone to check out since it is currently free in the Kindle store! I think I would definitely check out more titles from this author in the future. Cute YA read.
fast-paced
The writing and grammar issues are annoying but the story is sweet. The intimacy is very mild.
