great read. Opposites attract. I was glad to see such a strong female lead. I loved the developping romance.
This is a fun read; they fall fast and hard so it is insta-love but it’s plausible, since they do take the time to get to know each other from the start.
Fun, college dynamic, set in Boston, MA—I always love a book set here! It’s got some of the same old stuff that you find in many romances where one MC is more affluent than the other … but it also has some fun action and lots of drama, I found it to be worth the read, overall.
4 stars.

Note:
I listened to the audiobook and the narrator has a smooth, pleasant voice. I’d listen to more from this narrator.

This was a perfectly charming and light novel. Suspend what you know about the success rate of college sweethearts and you'll be charmed, too, I suspect.
This was mostly just ok for me. I thought the idea had a lot of potential, but the execution fell short. The story was too short and too rushed. There was very little conflict and it resolved so quickly, it felt negligible. The writing was fine, if a little juvenile (with many typos that should've easily been fixed during editing), fine for a quick, easy afternoon read. Because it was so short and rushed, I didn't really have much time to connect with the protagonists at all, though they were both find and likable characters overall.
All in all, didn't love it, didn't hate it. Nothing about it really makes me want to continue with the series, but I guess it's ok for a quick read if you're bored.

Can I be real for a minute? How can anybody care about image and social standing over their own child's happiness? Seriously. It makes me sick. I guess I feel the same way about pre-arranged marriages.
First we meet Ryan, who is sick of the entitlement that his friends and family think they have. He's tired of the spoiled attitudes and hoity toity bs that comes along with being the Congressman's son. He's the Captain of the hockey team and is on his way to the NHL.
Him and his friends are on their way to Sally's, a 24 hour diner, near the frat house that Ryan lives in. They are in a philosophy discussion when the server comes over and Angeline (Ryan's ex) lays into her about interrupting the discussion. Low and behold, the server, Danny, adds to it in an insulting way. It makes Ryan look up at her and he sees her for the first time. Ryan likes what he sees and ends up going back to the diner to ask Danny out.
Things between Danny and Ryan aren't great at first. They are from "opposite sides of the tracks" seeing as Danny is poor and Ryan is rich. There's no way that Ryan's family and friends will accept Danny for who she is due to her social class. Ryan's best friend, Mike, talks some sense into Ryan and they decide to go for it.
That's not to say there aren't obstacles for either of them.
Here's where things go down for me:
It would have had a higher rating from me if it was slowed down a bit. Too much too fast.
Is there going to be a 2nd book? Lots of unanswered questions...

Spoiler
Umm...they've been together a week and declaring their love and he wants to pay for her to go back to Julliard. Less than 10 days and he's proposing marriage. Umm...moving fast much? There were also so many questions...did she end up agreeing to the marriage? Did she go back to school? How did his mother act when they got together? Did Mike and Cameron get engaged? How long did Malone get in jail?It would have had a higher rating from me if it was slowed down a bit. Too much too fast.

I really only chose to read this because I wanted to read 235 books before the end of 2018 and I was at 233 and needed two short books to bust through before midnight strikes.
I've already read this book before, in a way. You needn't look any further than The Deal by Elle Kennedy or #Nerd by Cambria Hebert with an added heaping dose of insta love to experience the exact same book as this.
That's all I'm going to waste my time saying. If you want to hear my detailed thoughts on this story, just read my reviews for the aforementioned books and you'll get an idea of how I feel. I've got just one more book to get through before midnight so I'll catch you in the next one, the final one of 2018!

I went in open-minded thinking OOO we are going to get a sports romance YES!
I feel sad, he might have been a sports guy but we didn’t get any actual hockey scenes. :(
I kind of felt like I have read this book before over and over again it was all very predictable. Not to say it wasn’t good it just wasn’t unique.
I guess I just wanted something more.
I enjoyed the narration!

Second listen and I liked it better this time until that last 1/3rd. Then it went down hill.
Lots of eye rolling, I felt like we had enough drama but nope author thought we needed more.
I don't know if people think New Adult means drama or what but that's how this one went down.
Looking forward to the next book I have high hopes!
I still really like the narration.
