This was definitely not what I was expecting, dark and a bit messy and confusing, but a captivating story.

WHAT did I just read?!!!!

This book is phenomenal!!!! Set in a dystopian world two men tied together by a promise to a dead brother and a dead boyfriend find themselves in the middle of a war while falling in love with two mysterious and quirky men…

That’s all I can say without giving anything away… wow!!! I couldn’t stop reading this book and have loved everything I’ve read from this Author!!

**I'm updating my rating from a 3 to a 2**

The bones were there...

I'm not sure if this is just a mood I'm in or what, but if anyone was to ask me what I just read I wouldn't be able to explain anything.

I was really liking the dynamics between Cadoc & Kieran / Zade & Finn but especially towards the end it just all fell flat across the board for me.

Lowell's character is general felt so unnecessary and Arlo himself had so much potential. I'm also extremely confused on how the world became the way it has. Like what happened?

This book does deal with DID and does it in a good way I would say . Definitely not the way Hollywood likes to portray it which was really nice and refreshing. I wanted to really love this but unfortunately I just didn't.

This is an ARC review

This book had me chasing the chaos all the way to the end! There was so much delicious foreshadowing. Twists. Unexpected takes. It was nice to read a dark romance that really straddled the line. I fully recommend doing it as a buddy read because you are going to want to talk about it!! And if you don’t have a buddy to discuss it with, hit me up! This was my first Nordika Night book and I’ll definitely be reading more!

Cadoc • Zaden / Finn • Arlo • Keiran

Out of context spoilers ahead (none that harm the fun):

- “Arlo Thorne was the greatest threat we had. It was a name spoken in the darkest parts of the night.”
- dirt bikes.
- “Call me, maybe.”
- .
- .
- “…and here I was, living that reality he set out for me. And doing it with the guy I hated most in the world.”
- .
- “We had freedom, even if it was dangerous freedom.”
- “The north forest. Drunk or high. Like he’d been crying.”
- .
- .
- “Reluctantly and without grace, I had never broken that promise. Drunk or high. In the north forest. Crying.”
- „Karma was a bitch, and Fate was a jokester. Those pricks were always shoving us together when we least wanted it, but most needed it.”
- .
- .
- „I’d loved him with all I had eventually, and when he was ripped from my life, he took my heart with him. There were scraps left in my ribcage, but they didn’t know how to feel anything but pain these days.”
- .
- “Keiran, and everything.”
- “A savagely beautiful nightmare come to life.”
- .
- “Who do you want to belong to?” - “Nothing.” - Me. I was nothing.”
- “Inhale.” - “Chaos. Serenity. Danger. Bravery. Safety. Love. Lust. Regret. Sleepiness.”
- .
- “I hated when he said I looked like Zan because I hated that he was attracted to Zan and not me.”
- “Maybe because I’d been so starved for contact for so long, but neither did I.”
- “I’ll go.”

✨Wherever this life took us, we’d go together because we were two pin-pricked voodoo dolls, tied together, feeling each other’s pain in different places.✨

Honestly, I’m completely blown away right now. By not only how great this book was, but also how crazy versatile Nordika Night is. Just, wow

« Fuck, he was creepy. A savagely beautiful nightmare come to life. »

« Now we’re bound together for eternity. I will walk through your dreams, haunt your nightmares, stalk you in the waking world and bring you to my otherworld. You will never escape me. »

- « You telling me you love me Kei? »
- « I’m telling you I’ll hunt you forever and howl at your for eternity. »

« If Cadoc died here under the building we called home, I’d bury myself with him to walk in the next life at his side. »

- « What do I smell like? »
- « Mine. My path, my purpose, my tether to this body. »

« I pick you, Zaden. Now and every day. Just you. »

« You’re mine now. Shackled to me with no freedom. »

« You taste like a broken heart and a nightmare. »

« He might be housed inside the body of a lunatic, but he was loonier. He was a poet and a riddler, a dreamer and a stalker, and he was mine. »

« I needed him for my sanity, and no matter what happened in this fucked up world with this fucked up person, I’d pick him, too. »

- « Don’t come for me if I get taken. »
- « Don’t come for me either. »
I’d go after him. Just like he’d go after me.

First and foremost, I adore Nordika. But this wasn’t my favorite book. It felt slow and in some areas the world built felt a bit rushed.  I will say I loved the concept and the darken romance was good.

That’s why I gave it a 2.5. It’s definitely a book you love or hate. I am eh.
