3.5-4 stars. this one kinda dragged for me. there was a bit too much of the 'goody good girl' and 'oh-so-bad-boy' shit going on, but cliches aside, the writing is still uniquely ward's. and that woman can write, lemme tell you.
This series is okay in my book but I honestly only keep reading to see of there are more tie-ins with BDB. I don't feel an initial draw to the characters just reading the blurbs and even after finishing the last book I'm stilll not hungry for more of this journey. Maybe its because I've read all of the BDB up until "The Savior" and don't have "will everything work out for our heroes?" anxiety since a future character in this series (idk if its a main character, a pivotal side character, or just a pop-up mention) shows up in the BDB in a big way. Gonna finish the series so I can get any easter eggs in "The Sinner" which I need to read.
An okay read, but I didn't really care for it. Storyline was too obscure. Kept my attention while reading, but the jumping around POV wise made it easy to set down and forget.
Brilliant sequel to 'Covet' I think the first book was a little bit disjointed but J R Ward seems to have found her way with this one, it manages to be different from BDB but still uses some of the same elements that have proven to be so successful so she is on to a winner IMO.
The plot was good and I loved the characters, all in all, I can't wait to read the next one...

3 1/2 stars.. I really like the theme of this series, but Crave moved a little too slow. It was good, don't get me wrong, and I look forward to the next book in the series, but it wasn't as good as the first. I can always tell how good a book is by how many times I minimize it to check my facebook. A 5 star book has me M.I.A. from facebook until I have finished it! Jim is on his next mission against the evil Devina. Isaac Rothe is the key player this time, an old XOps buddy. There is alot going on with Adrian in this book, and I wish we knew more of his story, but I have a feeling that is coming.
I'm loving this series. It is not the brothers, so get them out of your mind. However, the plot twists, the humor, the witty banter are present in abundance. There is a wonderful couple whose relationship is woven through the story. He is a hot blooded male and she is a smart, attractive woman. I enjoyed the fact that she was a few years older than our hero.
I'm really appreciating our angel-man, Jim Heron. His character is becoming transformed as he gains new insights into his situation. He is onto his evil nemesis, in more ways than one, and he will rue the day.
I started this series with the 5th book, thinking I wouldn't like it. Wrong. I had to go back and start from the beginning. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

It took me a little while to decide, but I know now that I LOVE this series! Unlike the BDB books with the dragged out battle with the Lessers in the background of a bunch of falling in love and hot sex, this series has a focus. I love the characters, hate the evil Devina, and love the plot! Bravo, Ward.

I enjoy Jim's and Devina's interactions the most. their lovers-to-enemies/enemies-to-lovers dynamic is amusingly funny, and they just fit
