It took me a little while to decide, but I know now that I LOVE this series! Unlike the BDB books with the dragged out battle with the Lessers in the background of a bunch of falling in love and hot sex, this series has a focus. I love the characters, hate the evil Devina, and love the plot! Bravo, Ward.

This was great! I was so into it that I had to put it down when I knew something bad was going to happen. I just didn't want to know right then! LOL Surprise ending in this one... no I am not going to tell! Looking forward to the next one!

Crave is type of book that I love; the kind of book that is becoming a major part of the vocabulary and landscape of romance novels. More and more we’re reading books that are part of a larger series. Series where each book not only tells the story about the hero and heroine, but where each book contributes to the series by answering questions about the major theme and moral issues of the larger story arc. The reason the series exists if you will. With this kind of book it becomes an imperative that readers pay attention. These kinds of books are not for lazy readers, and that’s a good thing; because most romance readers are not only voracious in their appetites for well written romance, they’re also intelligent and diligent and demand much from the authors they read. I think that’s why these long standing, multifaceted and intricate series are so popular. We’re part of the generation that spent six years watching the TV show “Lost , and we want more to hang our hat on – more to wonder, more to ponder. We’re intrigued by the mysterious, by the unknown and excited about finding answers that don’t necessarily come easy.

I read this but couldn't really get into it, in the end I was just skipping over stuff to get to the end. I don't think it was the book's fault though I'm just going through a phase of reading other types of books right now and this was probably the wrong time to read this one. I may try to re-read it at another time...

I was really bored with this one. I liked Grier and Isaac's story but the the bigger story of the series took away from it and that's where I got bored. Not liking this series as much as the BDB series.

I really liked it, not as much as Covet but it was still a good book. I'm hooked so I'll follow Jim on this adventure of his and I liked how Issace was a personal connection to him.

This book was okay. I read this one first instead of Covet, but I could follow what was happening. The one big problem I had was the pregnancy thing. Did we really need that? As if two people cannot make a commitment to each other without it or something.

Series: Fallen Angels #2
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

Jim Heron has been given his second soul to save, an old XOps buddy who he is determined to save. But things quickly get complicated with new people to protect and Devina’s deals.

This book was definitely better paced than the first book. It picks up right after the end of the first book and jumps right into Jim heading to find Isaac. I enjoyed Isaac’s story. He was an interesting character who is determined to redeem himself. He just wants away from all the killing, even if he doesn’t know what he will do with the freedom.

Issac and Grier’s relationship was an instant love, opposites attract romance. I loved his determination to do the right thing and protect Grier. His enemy Matthias was an interesting one.
He really was mentally unstable and broken. I kind of wish we had more portions with his POV because he really was a tortured and captivating character.

The battle between Heaven and Hell is starting to heat up. We see Devina really show her evil side in this. We also learn a bit more about Aiden and his struggles with what Devina did to him in the previous book.

Overall, this was a continuation of the story. I am interested in seeing how this fight between Heaven and Hell continues.

Trigger Warnings: Rape, torture, attempted suicide, murder, violence, addiction, PTSD, blackmail, toxic masculinity, cheating (Side character piles drinks on a woman and convinces her to cheat on her husband, who is also cheating).
