I chose The Tales of Peter Rabbit, because it's one of the first books I remember as a child, I also love the illustrations by the author. This is also a classic Victorian Children's book based on how a child should behave and not get into trouble. This book would be a great way to include in curriculum for teaching procedures, following directions, staying out of trouble. Beatrix Potter was also one of the few successful woman author and illustrators during Victorian children's literature, which is considered the golden age of illustration for children's books.

Another one of those mischievous children's book characters that I just did not understand as a child. However, I loved the pictures and the story stuck with me, so it must have had some redeeming qualities.

Back at my parents’ I own the actual series of Peter Rabbit books. But for my little one, purchased as last year’s Easter gift when he wasn’t even two months old, this is a good abridged version of the story. He likes the pictures and it’s still reminiscent of the full tale.
