I really enjoyed this collection of short stories. Some of them were more memorable then others, but they were all really well written. And I mean...what else would you expect? It's Neil Gaiman.
One thing that was a little strange to me was that this book seems to be targeted toward kids, but there was at least one story that had some sexual content. It wasn't graphic, but it seemed a little inappropriate in my opinion for middle graders.
I would still definitely recommend this collection for teens or adults, and I really enjoyed it.

The great thing about a short story collection is that you don;t have to like them all. Neil Gaiman points this out in the introduction and I totally agree. I definately had some clear favorites in M is for Magic such as October in the Chair, Sunbird, and the Witch's Headstone.

A fantastic collection of short stories set in rural English towns, far off places and impossible locations. Neil Gaiman's introduction pretty much sums up the purpose of the book: there are not enough good short stories anymore. This book is a great escape from the daily doldrums of life and shows what a master of modern storytelling Gaiman really is.

Gaiman is a brilliant writer and his short stories are always exceptionally well written. This collection of short stories is no exception. Gaiman's stories include fantasy, horror, and coming of age stories. The introduction was especially inspirational when it comes to reading in general and short stories in particular.

I bought this a couple of years ago in Ireland, from an awesome bookstore called Chapters. M is for Magic caught my eye, because I love Neil Gaiman’s books and I hadn’t yet read this short story collection. It has actually quite a lot stories that I’ve read before, but I found some new stories also. The best stories were Troll Bridge (A new story for me and made me want to read more about trolls written my Gaiman), Sunbird, Witch’s Headstone and Instructions.
