A re-boot of Buffy, with some fun and some jarring differences.

Hey the characters looked like their tv self but also the art was good?????

Great revamp for the series. It takes the awkward first stages out of when the show was discovering itself for a new fun spin.

No Angel (so far?) but there is an Anya so that's interesting...

I ripped through this! First of you should know that I am, a huge Buffy fan - I have Mr Pointy tattooed on my arm- so yes, big fan.

It was so fun to revisit Buffy from the very beginning. What really made this new iteration of her so good was the perfect mix of the familiar w the new.

Xander, Willow, Giles, Cordelia
Their all there, along w some of our favorite villains
But their circumstances have changed, certain insecurities have been circumvented while others have been exacerbated to better fit the current struggles and advances of the 21st century.

It makes for great, very nostalgic fun.
Personally, I just can’t wait to see Buffy come into her own, yet again
And save the world... a lot

A great premiere for the new era of Buffyverse! I have a lot of questions, mostly about particular character arcs from the OG and how they'll translate in this new series, but I think I trust this new writing team (plus Joss). This first issue was loose, but in a fluid way more so than a random way. I enjoyed this revamped first convos between our beloved Scoobies. The vamp dialogue and action scenes could maybe be updated a bit more to match new Buffy's tone. Oh, and the art is stunning. The covers are 100% my vibe! I can only hope the volume editions will include each and every single variant cover!

So I'm a HUGE Buffy fan. I own the movie from the 90s, I've seen the show multiple times and read the entirety of the canonical comic book series. But I was super nervous picking this up because I wasn't sure I was ready for the inevitable changes. I loved how Buffy series ended in the Season 12 comics and then all of a sudden we're getting a reboot in comic form as well as a new show.

Needless to say I was nervous and didn't pick it up until now after finally convincing myself that this wouldn't take away anything the original show and comic book series did.

Obviously this is only the first issue but I already like it a lot and I'm semi hopeful. Especially since we're already bringing on certain characters that originally didn't come until later.

I'm also excited to see these characters in a modern setting and I think I'm just happy to be back in Sunnydale honestly.

It’s quite a cool Comic.
I never saw a single episode of the tv-show but I am starting to think that I should because I really enjoyed this comic.
Won’t go into any spoilers but the artwork is really cool. I don’t know how precisely it transfers to paper Joss Whedon’s vision (I don’t really know HOW vampires are shown in the show or how Buffy’s personality is) but the book in itself is very good.

I really like all the things they've changed for now, I think this is going to be good. The art is nice, the characters fun and the dialogs are amazingly quotable.

I also loved seeing Anya from the beginning (and she watches Firefly yay !).
