If it seems too good to be true then it usual is. The same applies here.

Constance Owens has a talent that has gotten her into a spot of bother. 4 statues and greed have led to her sister being kidnapped and she will do anything to get her back and I. Mean. Anything.
Nicodemus Wilde is near the deep sleep of drakon’s where they are never to awaken again. All of his brothers have found their mates and he is alone but is until an antiques dealer contacts him about a statue.

The whole mate thing went faster than it usually does but there inner monologue of oh she doesn’t want, oh he doesn’t want me did me bloody nut in. I mean really, dude you are four thousand years old. You should know better.

So far I have loved the first three books in the series but here my love ran out. I didn’t like the plot for the MC of the book. IMO I found it to be flimsy at best. I mean really Constance how about telling him the plan instead of lying to him and I don’t know betraying him like that? It would have been so much easier but then again there wouldn’t have been a book.

The icing on the cake was when she was told to not open the door and what does she do? Yes peeps she opens that bloody door to see what is going on outside the soundproof room. Woe and behold she gets a gun held to her head. I mean really how stupid can you be?

I skimmed as the sex scenes bored me and my mini rant is now over.

I like how the overall story progressed with the Knights of the Dragon and the Dragon Guard coming more prominent in the book now.

The question now though is if the series stops here, it would be a shame if it did stop because it has a lot of potential. I would like to see if any of the other drakon’s will be found and have books.

I'm in the minority here.

Caught in an unexpected situation, Constance handles herself to the best of her abilities with the knowledge she hasin order to save her family. Nic, our last Drakon brother, is losing interest in the world, but finds himself drawn to Constance and, more importantly, her connection to the Knights of the Dragons. As these two follow a dark path to reach their goals secrets are unearthed both good and bad that bring them to something more.
You definitely won't want to miss this latest installment of Ms. Walters's great series! I can't wait to see what she has planned for the next one!

Thanks to publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to read this story.

Intrigue. Betrayal. Action-packed.

Drakon’s Past is book four in the Blood of the Drakon series by N.J. Walters.

Nic, I liked him. He’s thinking about the eternal sleep and has lost interest in the world. If you have kept up with the series then you know that Nic has a very sad past and believes he was abound by the one person who is supposed to love and protect him unconditional. He’s not in a good place when Constance shows up in his life.

Constance has a gift for find unique artifacts that people leave behind. She’s also protective of her sister, her only family left, and will do anything to keep her safe.

The romance between Nic and Constance is ok. They both are attracted to each other at first meeting, but theirs too much at stack to give into that attraction. Even by the end I felt they still had things to work on; before their is true love.

One of the things I really like about this series is that the women who are mates to the Drakon all have some kind of unique ability. It’s captivating to learn about these abilities.

As for the storyline it moves forward, but not by much. We do learn a bit about the Dragon Guard and get the sense their maybe more information still to come. Their’s bad guys, magic, action and mating. What I loved most about this one was the surprise we get about Nic’s past. What he thought was true, wasn’t and this knowledge sets him free and brings someone new into his life; besides Constance.

I’m curious to see where this series goes from here. Will we meet more drakon’s? More bothers fighting back against the Knights of the Dragon? Who’s in the Dragon Guard? Lots of questions and possibilities.

Drakon’s Past was another astonishing and delightful read.

I was so excited that Nic was finally getting his book! And Constance was a perfect match for him! There is a little bit of insta- attraction, but just like the previous books, the plot had the perfect mix of action and romance! Can't wait to read the other books in the series!

I gave it 2.5 stars

DRAKON'S PAST was by far my least favorite book of the series.

Since this series is all about the romance I will start there. The insta-love between Constance and Nic was a little too unbelievable and there was no real bonding time involved before they jumped into bed. I never really felt the connection that was supposed to be there which made it hard to root for them to become a couple.

The situations they were in was also a little too much. Constance's reactions didn't always seem to match the situations. One minute she is ready to murder Nic because she thinks he has her sister and the next she is all gaga over him. She is told not to do something yet she does it anyways and ends up in trouble. It was extremely annoying.

One thing I did like about DRAKON'S PAST was the information we got about the Dragon's Guard. Now that all 4 brothers have their mates this might be the way the author plans to continue the series.

I have really enjoyed most of the past love stories and books in this series, but DRAKON'S PAST was a bust for me and I don't feel like it added much to the series.

Good plot, good characters and interesting but somewhat limited world building. I'll finish out the series.

Drakon's Past is the story of the 4th brother, Nic. I feel like I have been waiting for his story forever. Nic is very different from his brothers. He isn't a recluse like they were, he enjoys being around people, and he is a fire dragon. Nic lives in Las Vegas and discovers a woman who is attempting to sell a dragon statue. However, Jeremiah Dent of the Knights of the Dragon wants the statue as well.

Constance is a simple woman who has a strange talent for finding valuable things among the junk. Raised by her grandfather, she lives a quite life dealing in antiques with her younger sister, Abigail. She can sense that the statues are dangerous or bad in some way. Both Dent and Nic want them, but she can't imagine that anyone actually believes in dragons! With her sister kidnapped by Dent, Constance will do whatever it takes to get her back. But, she is wildly attracted to Nic and he is the one who is helping her, not threatening her.

Nic's brothers are in contact throughout the book and I enjoyed that. Even though they live in different parts of the USA, they are in communication and care about each other. Nic and Constance have a bit of a 'fated mate' thing going on, but its not quite the insta-love that normally happens and I think a lot of readers appreciate that. The plot is filled with drama and the clash between the Knights and the dragons really reaches a pinnacle. Drakon's Past gives you the romance you want and the action you need! I fell in love with all the brothers and recommend this series if you like unique shifters!

Nic has reached breaking point. He's seriously considering taking an eternal sleep. He has tired of the world and his past is tangled in his present and he had a rather jaded view.

Constance has a very hand quirk, she can find very rare and unique artefacts. She is also a super protective sister and she would step in front of a bullet to keep her safe. but can she take on a Drakon?

Nic and Constance are instantly attracted to each other but both are lugging around a multitude of baggage! Whilst the road to love was rocky, you can tell that even though they have to work at it, they'll be good together. I love the fact that the heroines aren't just arm candy, they have talents all of their own and they don't have to rely on the men to get them out of sticky situations.

We do learn a bit more about the Dragon Guard and the background of the story but the story arc itself doesn't accelerate much. I'm hoping for the story to move on a bit in the next book. But otherwise a great read.

Constance Owens has a gift for finding unique items in the most unlikely places, which comes in handy since she buys and sells artifacts and antiques for a living. When she purchases a set of four dragon statues, she has no idea just how unique they are, or that finding them will thrust her into a world of secret societies, men who think nothing of kidnapping and murder to get what they want, and dragon shifters.

Nic hasn’t survived for four thousand years by letting his guard down, and he doesn’t trust anyone except his drakon brothers. The loneliness haunting him has been getting worse since all his brothers have found their mates. And when he finds the woman his drakon recognizes instantly as his fated mate, he doubts he’ll ever have what his brothers have, because it seems she’s involved with the secret society of hunters who have been hunting and capturing his kind for hundreds of years.

Nicodemus. Wow. Let me start by saying I am rating this 5-stars because above all, I really enjoyed this book but it wasn’t my favorite out of the collection thus far. Up until now I had been on a path where every drakon I came across… Darius, Tarrant, and the wonderfully delicious Ezra have each made me like the next one even better. This did not happened with poor Nic. Again, this isn’t because I didn’t enjoy the story and it’s not because I didn’t like him… it’s because I feel this story is a bit different in its execution than the other three. My point mainly being is that these drakons have been through the wringer in there exceptionally long lives and Nic seems to be the only one who can’t get over it, move on, and find happiness. Basically the other three are dark and brooding but have worked through whatever issues they had with their past life and childhood but Nicodemus wants to feel sorry for himself and place the blame of his past issues on his potential future.

Given he is the walking poster child for self-pity in this book, it does not help things when the woman of his dreams comes with baggage of her own. I think the formula in the previous books, where the women had no other relationships of any kind in the world, worked better. The sassy heroine, Constance had to come with a complication… a sister. This mucks everything up and makes it harder for Nic to trust. This aspect was frustrating for me and it was the first time a drakon was in the “home life” of the woman his heart clings to. The past females have been removed from their home with no need to return. Constance owns a house that she runs a business out of with her sis. Major complications for an alpha male drakon who wants to be the center of his fated mate’s world.

However, I stand by my 5-star rating because I probably needed this more “realistic” view of how these drakons would handle a more modern woman and her family. I didn’t get the warm and fuzzies from Nic and Constance as I did the others but I still feel they are a wonderful addition (they are definitely the most stand out of the lot). This reads to me more as a stand alone with slight input of the other siblings. I felt it was a short quick event that really wasn’t adding to the big piece of the puzzle we have come to want to unravel in the past volumes. Plus as someone who has lived most her life in the tropics and then headed north, I don’t like the heat and Vegas holds no appeal to me. The other stories were set in locations I do want to go.

With that said, I do hope fans who have read the other books will give Nic’s story a read as it is still a very crazy ride and adventure. Now that I have read all four brother’s books I am super insanely interested in what is next… time for book #5!
