I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway (thanks to Henry Holt & Company!) so I went into this story pretty blind. This book was so unexpected and amazing and I'm so glad I read it.

I loved the multiple-POVs of the sisters and how each sister's personality really shined through in their chapters. I think this story was so well-rounded and full because we got to see the different perspectives.

The villain in the story is the patriarchy which I can always get behind. I also liked that Nora gave off Winona Ryder in Stranger Things vibes.

I do not have a good background in the Flint, Michigan water crisis but I think this story really gives a good glimpse of what can happen and how money and power can influence not only the government's decisions but also the community's decisions.

In summary, read this book!

I listened to this book on audio and enjoyed every minute of it! I loved hearing the story from the view of each sister and Frankel did a wonderful job of voicing each sister differently to show their personality and differences.

The story itself really captured me and I genuinely felt for each character and their struggles throughout the story. It felt so real and as if it could actually have happened. I hope Laurie Frankel continues to write such wonderful books!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Emma Galvin, Jesse Vilinsky, and Rebecca Soler narrated the triplet sisters: Mab, Monday, and Mirabel. They live in a small town where the rate of disabilities is higher than the national average. The sidewalks are wider so that wheel chairs can past. 17 years ago their town was in the national news for their water turning green, and the Mitchell sisters mother has been in a law suit since with the company who were dumping chemicals into the water.
This story is about the three sisters as they learn what fully happened 17 years ago and their fight to make sure it doesn't happen again.
This story was heartwarming. I loved hearing from each sisters perspective. The narrators did such an amazing job at having their own voice but then capturing the tone of the other characters. At the end of the book there is an interview with the author and the producer of the audio book. The performers all recorded at home during the pandemic. I could not tell at all that it was not recorded in a studio.
The charterers made me laugh and cry. The reason this is a 4 star and not a 5 star for me is that it was a bit long in places.
This was my first time reading Laurie Frankel, and I will be sure to read her other books.

*I received this audio book as and ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.
