My mind is blown. There is anger, admiration, frustration and gratitude mixed together. How is it that this is a history of workers in the US and how is it that so much of what they experienced takes place today. These women ran the gauntlet of what many women still deal with all while their bodies failed them. They went through crushing medical bills, doctors who dismissed them, employers who replaced them and community that abandoned them. They still had a power to move forward and found people along the way. This book opened a new rabbit hole to fall into. And honestly should be required reading for all.
