Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong are Deepdean School for Girls very own secret Detective agency. With nothing to investigate for a long time, Hazel discovers the body of Miss Bell, yet when she returns with Daisy the body is gone! The game is afoot for our young amateur detectives!
This is the first in the Murder Most Unladylike series and it didn’t disappoint. A nice, lighthearted murder mystery featuring two dynamic characters, Hazel being my favourite of the two. With a few quirky lines along the way you cannot help but find this book amusing despite being a murder mystery. This is a perfect book for young readers to get into the murder mystery genre as there is nothing too gruesome or offensive. A great introduction to the series and I’m looking forward to reading the rest!

3.5 ⭐️ ponieważ jest to fajna książka dla młodszego czytelnika i właśnie pod tym względem ją oceniałam, jednak dla starszych osób moim zdaniem nie jest już za dobra

A thoroughly recommended middle grade story. Crocky (my wife) and I read the book together yesterday in one sitting and are enchanted.
I used to love crime stories, I have always had a soft spot for boarding school stories, and this book combined them to beat effect. It also has a very realistic depiction of a young girl friendship to boot. It also has an Asian British narrator, still a rarity especially in middle grade stories, whose voice is distinctive and whose use identity is not defined, but definitely shaped by her experiences with racism in the England of the thirties.

Enjoyable middle grade boarding school set mystery featuring Daisy Wells and Hazel Wong. I am not sure that I am too keen on Daisy she is a bit pushy, but will continue with the series and see how both the characters develop
