The Troop was really good....and super gross. The horror doesn't just come from the worms that threaten to infect them all but from the evils of humans too.
I enjoyed the use of the news articles and interview exerpts to convey information to the audience that the main characters do not have. And I really liked the characters, especially Newton.

This book is hard to describe... but I'll lay it out. It's gross. The descriptions are graphic and utterly disgusting. However, it's a really good read if you're able to stomach it. Storyline grows at a decent pace with some real unexpected reveals in some of the characters development. I picked this book up assuming it was gonna be like a basic zombie style book or something. But it wasn't! No zombies... but
spoiler alert and trigger warning for anyone who has issues with parasites and tape worms
I rated it so high because a book has never grossed me out and intrigued at the same time as much as this book did.

You certainly don’t want to put this book down, just be sure to read the content warnings before you pick it up! This is such a good horror book. The way cutter writes gives you such visceral reactions to the characters and what’s happening on the island and paints such a vivid picture that I found myself seeing worms moving on my arms while reading.

Well that was certainly a trip. Fairly decent read, not my typical kind of horror, but not bad as a refresher between other subgenres. It's a pretty solid three for me personally, and I could see this potentially being pretty polarizing for people.

Delightfully disgusting! One of the best horror novels I’ve had the pleasure of reading.

This was a very… interesting read. If you like horror, gore, animal torture, and kids trying to survive a deadly virus… this is the book for you!

MAJOR SPOILERS:
Fuck Shelley. It pains me to know that no one knows what happened to Kent. Poor Newt. Eef?! How horrible what happened to him.. and Max has to live with all of this (or does he?)
