I have really been enjoying reading Agatha. Christie standalones and Sparkling Cyanide was no exception. We are following Lily whose older sister Rosemary committed suicide during dinner. However, soon George, Rosemary‘s husband, begins to suspect that foul play was at hand.
We then meet the cast of characters who were at the dinner and learn of different possibilities of what could’ve happened. I was suspicious of practically everyone, but did not fully figure everything out. I wish there was an adaptation for me to watch as well, but all the ones that I have found look corny. The audiobook was narrated by Hugh Fraser, aka Hastings, which was very well done. Highly recommend this one for you if you enjoy Agatha or a good murder mystery!

This is my sixteen read of the month :D I am truly happy about it since it is a record for me, and the month is yet to finish and I've got 9 days of vacation left. That's now 3000 pages read. As you can see they are small books but that's life. But now for vacations I will take a bit longer book.
So, this was an impulse read as I've not thought of reading it. I grab it and off we go. To be fair it's one of the best books I've read from her since the last few reads were a bit disappointing. To be fair, maybe it's because this one was from 1945and the ones I didn't enjoy as much were from the 60's.
The story is told in 3 shorter books. We've got this woman, Rosemary, that has been killed and the author provides 6 chapters to tell us about all of the 6 people that were present when the "suicide" took place. Each one is a caricature of other characters - I believe she inspired on Shakespeare plays as there are a lot of hints of it.
To be fair just before the second murder and it's not a spoiler as it is in the back cover - I tried to uncover the killer and initially Colonel Race also thinks it's that person. Unfortunately we were both wrong - but the reason was okayish.
Agatha Christie uses in some novels psychology and her explanation for the action of some characters it's always fun. Also interesting is the attitude of British people. Women or Men that were in position of power, even if they were cheated or so, they would not leave their spouse due to society problems. They could divorce yes, but being known publicly that you cheated was worse than almost anything. There is also some interesting insight on suicide.
I would rate this book in the upper books I've read from her. I Almost read everything from her. Probably ten books to go - most are Miss Marple. 82/100

Me decepcionó el final pero la historia en sí es muy entretenida, pude descubrir parte del cómo, y del quién, pero no por completo. Aunque la revelación no me conformo del todo, creo que quedaron algunos detalles sin cerrar, y la explicación final no me convence
