Disappointing. Flattened characters and no sense of place despite being set on the Titanic :/ I feel bad giving it 2 stars because it had all the right ingredients.
I had such high hopes for this book but it fell flat for me. It was too short for the stakes to feel like they were there and I couldn't just leave the countdowns on every chapter until the ship sunk to cause me to be on the edge of my seat if they would succeed or not. The entire planning of the heist is done before the book even begins and is kept from the reader and three of the girls until it blows up into a fight - which just felt like it was there to cause drama and put the actual heist off until the ship had hit the iceberg.
2.75/5 stars.
yes i am writing this 3 months after having finished the book. don't look at me.
not the biggest fan of this! I felt like the characters were underdeveloped, theee was little worldbuilding, and the heist wasn't very developed either. Trying to do a historical fiction heist novel with four main characters and two romance storylines is a lot to do in one book, and unfortunately this fell flat.

4 teenage girls set out to pull a heist on the Titanic. What could possibly go wrong?
There's a countdown to The Thing at the top of every chapter that creates a sense of anticipation and urgent. It was STRESSFUL to read, but I'm glad I did. Also, at least two of the girls are gay.

A bittersweet historical romp full of young love and the importance of female friendships, Adiba is an instant buy author for me and I should’ve been expecting to cry given the context but this still Got Me y’all

I just wasn’t super into it. I felt like there were no stakes.
