Haven’t read many books about time traveling and when I read that there were books involved, I jumped all over this book!

This is one of Christy's finest books, one of my favorite things about Christy's books is her Characters are so well written and easy to fall in love with. And Fall in love with them I did, all over again. I loved the intricacies of this book and the plot twists. The main character in this book was so well written and the story idea of a librarian being part of a chosen group of women who can travel into books is very different, new, and fresh. The ongoing story within a story is so interesting and I've found a new book boyfriend...yet again. This book was hard to put down and I found myself finishing it in the wee hours of the morning. I highly recommend this book to everyone, Christy is a skilled storymistress!

I really struggle with books where stupidity is rewarded and that happens a lot in this book. I really tried to remember the main character is supposed to be 19/20 yrs old and I haven't been in a long while. And the insta-love (twice!!) was a bit much for me, but again, much younger crowd - they tend to jump into thing quicker than I would. I think if I was in high school this book would have been great.

Things I did like: Emme has had sex before and doesn't feel bad for it and embraces it. This needs to happen more in YA, so that young girls know it's ok to have a sex drive. I really wish that condoms or some form of birth control had been mentioned, but I'll take what I can get.

Free Kindle e-book in exchange for an honest review as part of the Indie June author month.

Do you wish you had the power to travel through time and travel into books? Because that is the magical ability Emmeline inherited from her family, the Bailey family. After her grandmother passes away, Emme becomes The Librarian. She is tasked with preserving and writing down history.

On her first trip, Emme meets a mysterious young man and slowly starts to fall in love. In her own timeline, she meets Tarryn, who becomes her protector and helps her return to their time, after each journey to the past.

The plot itself is intriguing, while also not novel. The book reads like it needed one last draft before being published. The writing is simple and descriptions could be filled in. While ignoring the plot itself, I have a hard time believing that characters would behave the way they do in certain situations. For example, when Tarryn demands Emme to tell her whatever she is hiding, even though they only just met, and as Emme has just lost her grandmother, she has no business prying into her personal matter. I don't like how much Emme is obsessed with yoga pants every time she goes back and how many time she recounts that she just wants to go to England, and not stay and become The Librarian.

Those are only few of the examples that, in my opinion, drag the rating of the book down. That is the reason I give this book 3 out of 5 stars. To be honest, rating would be around 2.7 if I were to get nitpicky.

Amazing book

I finished this book in one sitting it was so moving. Emmeline's story as a chronicler is a touching one that makes you realize what is important in life.

A sweet story, with just a bit of romance. It was an enjoyable read, though a little bittersweet at the end. I will definitely be reading the next books in the series soon!

Loved this book and can’t wait to read the others! Emme is a young woman who grew up in a small town in Maine with her grandmother (who she refers to as Gram). Gram owns a library and holds a (family) secret.
Emme can’t wait to get away from this small town to follow her dreams. But, when Gram gets taken to the hospital she returns… only to have to say goodbye and learn about this secret Gram has been keeping from her. Apparently the women in her family can travel in time through books to document history.
Gram leaves Emme the library and this responsibility, which she doesn’t understand or want.
She dives into her first book meets Jack and her life gets turned upside down. It has love, growth, loss… I just loved this!!

Fantastic read!

I loved this book! I was hooked from the first page! I couldn’t put it down. I don’t usually read romance, but this one was very good! I liked it a lot! The story sucked me in. I can’t wait to read the second book!

I had high hopes for this book, especially as time travel was listed on the description. However, I soon found that the time travel aspect was lack lustre and mostly the story concentrated on a romance that wasn't really fleshed out.

I really enjoyed this book. The author takes you through a real journey with our main character Emme. She is 19 and you see her character evolve and learn so much thanks to her families secret gift of time travel to preserve history. I strongly suggest this book to anyone looking for something outside the box.
