I am torn. On the one hand, I thought the world building was interesting. Gods being akin to celebrities and owning a bunch of businesses is a promising idea. But there were several sentences I read that were awkward and clunky, and more weird grammatical stuff. Not sure if this was self published or not, but it could have benefited from a few more rounds of editing. I liked the idea that Hades wasn’t as evil as everyone thought and I liked this depiction of the Underworld as being more of a peaceful existence. I’m not sure if I will read the second one. This felt like a lot of telling and not showing.
DNF. Couldn’t get into it because the writing was so bad and nothing was actually happening for sooooo long(and not in a slow burn way, genuinely nothing was happening. I felt I was just getting a play by play of daily mundane things)
Felt very fanfiction in the sense that a very young girl wrote it and everything was to the point, no details no real story telling
This was great. The banter between Hades and Persephone was electric and there was so much tension. I loved the way the dynamic between them evolved and how they grew individually too. The world-building was very well done and the characters were very well developed. There were a couple of twists that had me like
This is such a good telling of Hades and Persephone! I only picked up this book after finishing St. Clair's King of battle and blood and again she didn't disappoint!
It's a spicy, enemies to lovers romance and it's exactly what I needed!
I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!
