I enjoyed this a whole lot more than I initially expected.

The romantasy genre is majorly hit or miss for me, and I'm so glad this was a hit!

I ate up every second of this and kept wanting to read more. The romance was great, the retelling aspects I adored and the spice was just the right amount for me.

Persephone is not my favourite MC and for that reason alone, I'm not sure if I'm going to continue with the series. Very content to let this end nicely in my head.
Strong character development: No

Another reviewer said it best: “This is basically unedited, underdeveloped Greek mythology smut.”

Why did my library system invest in 6 copies of this book to lend?! LOL

I liked the idea of the story and the writing was very well done however I listened to it and found myself fastfowarding all the sex scenes ew I hate when the narrator like makes sex noises blegh I liked the storyline though and thought there was great character development

Third reread and I love it just as much

Persephone, the goddess of spring, wants to live among mortals and keep her identity secret. A university student studying journalism, she is intrigued by the contracts Hades, god of the underworld, makes with mortals. When she meets him at his nightclub, she inadvertently enters into her own contract with him. To win, she has 6 months to create life in the underworld. Problem: she has no magic. Also, her mother despises Hades and every moment spent with him risks her mother’s wrath and perpetual imprisonment. But, Persephone is drawn to Hades like a moth to a flame. And it seems to be mutual. Can she free herself from the contract, love Hades, and live as a mortal?
So so good! I loved the spin on the myth of Hades and Persephone. Persephone wasn’t my favorite character, but Hades more than made up for it - he’s literally a dream. Their forbidden romance was tense and fiery and when they finally came together? Spicy! I also love how the assistant got her comeuppance, but I won’t spoil it. 🤭
