Thank you NetGalley and Laurence King Publishing for gifting me an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, the illustrations in the book are breathtakingly gorgeous! They’re bright, colorful, and just really spectacularly done!
Second, this is a great book for a younger reader just beginning to gain interest in mythology. It has a diverse range of stories from all over the world that are grouped by continent and is inclusive of many different cultures. The stories themselves are short, simple, and intriguing, which will definitely pique the interest of the readers.

This book was absolutely gorgeous. The illustrations were just stunning!! I have absolutely no idea how to rate this book, because I feel like although it gets 5 stars for the artwork, and for achieving (what I assume was) it's goal of entertaining kids with mythical and magical tales, my own personal enjoyment of reading this can't be 5 stars! Definitely considering purchasing a copy for the kids' Christmas presents.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an advanced copy of “Mythopedia: An Encyclopedia of Mythical Beasts and Their Magical Tales” by Good Wives and Warriors. Thoughts and opinions are my own.
This book is a beautifully illustrated middle grade collection of myths from around the world. The artwork is stunning from page to page and I imagine a physical copy would do them justice the best. I was familiar with a few of the myths, but most were new to me. I definitely would have loved this book as a kid and I throughly enjoyed reading the stories and looking at the illustrations. I think readers of all ages would enjoy this book especially if they have an interest in expanding their knowledge of myths. This book seems like a library must-have. I’d love to see a sequel or series of these lovely books!

Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review.
Mythopedia is a book with a collection of myths focused on the animals and creatures of a lot of cultures. The book is split into sections of continents which makes it easier if you want to read a more specific culture. This book has to be the most beautiful book I have ever seen as it is full of colour and the art is amazing! The stories are interesting and precise which will definitely help the younger readers and as each story is roughly around one to three pages long, it doesn't all have to be read like a novel- it can be picked up pretty much anywhere and read in any order.
This book is aimed at children but it can be read by any age group, I definitely recommend this to parents who want to educate their children about different cultures beliefs.
Rating- 5⭐
Would I read it again:

Would I recommend it:

The artwork in this book is absolutely beautiful, and yet that's really the only unique feature of it. While there are many mythological creatures portrayed, we are given the actual stories for only a few of these creatures. It is unfortunate that some nations and cultures are given precedence over others, with Oceania having only three stories to represent it in its entirety. Moreover, Southeast Asia and the Middle East are ignored entirely, and the text ends without any afterword acknowledging the wide variety of stories that can be found all over the world. If this book was twice as long and included additional stories from a variety of cultures, it would likely be a 4-star book. Until then, I'll have to stick with 2.5 stars (rounded up to 3).

I received an E-arc on Netgalley for review and all opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher, Laurence King Publishing Ltd, for sending this my way.
This is now one of my favourite mythology collections I've read to date. The art and illustrations are so breath-taking and striking, honestly some of the most beautiful, bright, bold and colourful, eye-catching, stunning art I have ever seen in a book! I would die to get hold of these illustrations in individual prints!
Not only that, but it shows prominent myths and legends from every continent, detailing a summary and origin story of each. It's so easy to follow and organised, showing a gorgeous map of the world and sections flowing from the West to the East, starting with The Americas and finishing at Oceania, so you can read about each continents key mythology. Each myth is show cased in 4 pages, or 2 double spreads, showing a page length illustration, a concise summary, and a double-page view of its origin story. Very insightful and informative, I have picked up some myths I wasn't aware of, and it shows familiar myths which are most-well known but may not know the origins. I know this is listed as Children's non-fiction but I would strongly recommend it to all ages. I have already pre-ordered a physical copy because I loved it that much and want to marvel at this gorgeous book physically!

The absolute beauty of presentation and ability to provide national pride and culture, beliefs in just 2 pages with the amazing illustrations and color selection that perfectly represents the nation, costumer, national representation, is just perfection,
In 2 pages the authors were able to give idea, data, information, illustration, the mythology behind, associated beliefs, colors of the national costumes that present beasts and creatures...
The book presents basic beasts and beliefs of continents by perfectly depicting the myth itself...
Language and interest keeping are absolute, without a question, a five-star worth content, illustrations, colors, just make you dive deep into the culture you know so little about...
References to initial myths are done beautifully, any child will be just drawn like a butterfly to these colors and objects, I am sure it took enormous research to understand and present each small symbols with the presentation of the myth.
I am so glad the authors and publishers presented such a treasure to young readers, helping to bring up a generation of curious and open-minded myth-lovers.
If possible, upon publishing and printing, please share a copy with me, I will treasure this book forever!

Thanks to Netgalley for a digital copy in exchange for an honest review :)
This is a little book about mythical creatures and some short stories involving them. For such a short book, it is very informative and it made me want to read more about these creatures. The descriptions were kept short and interesting, while the short stories were fun and entertaining. I have discovered some new mythological creatures I never knew about.
My favourite aspect of this book were the illustrations. They are part of the description and the story. Every creature has its own illustration and it is wonderful.
I cannot recommend this book enough. It is beautiful, interesting and very informative. :)
