5/5 ⭐️
Head Over Heels is the second book from the Wilder family series and can be read as a stand-alone . I want to thank Karla Sorensen and wildfire marketing for this opportunity in return for an honest review !
This book is one of the best books I have read in 2024. It was a sweet and emotional read for me. Ivy and Cameron were so great together. Cameron was just top tier ! Like come on he is a sweet, loving, and caring guy. Not only that but the patience that man had was the most pleasant thing about him and his relationship with Ivy. Also the family dynamic that the Wilders have was so sweet to read but also emotional.
This book had me in tears but also laughing when it came to the Wilder’s banter. Also this book is a small town romance, insta-attraction, angst , opposites attract, and city girl and small town boy romance book.
MUST READ AND BE PUT IN YOUR TBR !!!

ABOUT THE BOOK:
REVIEW:
I didn't think I could love Cameron this much after his cameos in [b:One and Only|152061930|One and Only (Wilder Family)|Karla Sorensen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1683703875l/152061930._SY75_.jpg|144318130] but boy did he deliver! Add in the complex and admirable Ivy to the mix and the (for me) perfect way Karla weaves her stories.. *CHEF'S KISS*
It's fated, if you get stuck in an elevator with a handsome stranger right after you ran out of your wedding dress fitting, right? Ivy's life was always laid out in front of her, in black and white, just like a perfect chess game. Have great grades, attend the best schools, marry the son of her father's business partner, take over her father's legacy at his company.
For the first time this path seems the wrong one to take. With one fatal elevator ride and a scorching kiss shared between strangers, destiny stepped in.
Cameron's life is in shambles. His company got hit by a big project falling through, his father is sick, his brother is avoiding the family and small town rendezvous are just as miserable as you'd thought. Enter the snarky duchess from the city and he doesn't know up from down.
None of them thought they'd have another encounter - especially not in a professional setting. After sharing secrets and revealing their hidden insecurities in confined spaces, Ivy's returned to her Icy Queen self and Cameron is dead set on showing her what a true family and meaningful relationship is like.
I loved, loved how Cameron fell first, hard and without questions for Ivy. As their second meeting was maybe even more significant than the first time, he made sure to plant himself in her thoughts and feelings from the get go.
Ivy was a tad prickly, a bit misguided, her emotional availability and the family background she grew up in was less than ideal, more like something a general would do to their troops.
The city girl, small town boy trope played along to their personalities perfectly! Cameron was a total cinnamon roll, he was patient, understanding, a total knight in shining armour with the exterior of a lumberjack. He was a provider not only for his family, but his friends and he seemed to understand Ivy's need to seek validation, to be the badass in a men centered world. He didn't confuse the workaholic tendencies and goals with cold-heartedness and shrillness. Cameron comparing Ivy to the stray dog, afraid of the unknown and not understanding caring people was such a great metaphor for their situation.
It was beautiful to witness Ivy learning to lean on and letting people in - not just Cameron, but his rambunctious family. Her getting a chance to be a part of a loving, supportive group of people and being accepted for exactly who she is was beautifully documented, and the character's development was nuanced to perfection in my eyes.
The passion, love, tenderness shone through the pages, and I was sad to leave the Wilder family behind. Especially with the inevitable side story woven into the love story. I wish there were even more pages to the story, I could've read for several more chapters about Cameron and Ivy.
OH, AND JUST TO ADD: I highlighted the sh#t out of this one!

”One of those unfair things you’ll face is being a powerful woman in a man’s world. If you’re overly emotional, they will call you hysterical. If you’re cold and firm, they will call you a bitch. If a man was all those same things, he’d be passionate. A great leader with a level head on his shoulders.”
5⭐️
this series is truly hidden gem. i don’t think any book in this series will be less than a 4.5-5⭐️. do you want to know why? emotionally mature men. add no third act break up.
karla’s writing is good and easly to get through, these books are so fast paced. i’ve read first book in this series last year and i absolutely loved it. it is one of my fav romance books. can’t wait for the next one.
”A quick jolt of unintended heat, and then gone again, with nothing left to show except a racing heart and tattered nerves.”
cameron and ivy first meet in the elevator, after both of them went through shitty day. to add on that, they got stuck together alone in there. was that the best moment of their day? life?

“You Wilder boys,” she said fondly. “Once you fall, you fall hard, and there’s no stopping it, is there?”
No truer words could be spoken.
This book was the perfect balance between intense emotion and addictive sexiness. Sorensen has consistently been a one-click author of mine since I read her Smartypants Romance books, and this was no different. A life-changing, steamy encounter in an elevator is just the beginning of their journey together, perfectly imperfect and broken in different ways.
Written with beautful sensitivity, leaving you wanting more, and shocked to look down and realise you're already 90% done.
