I loved loved loved this Beauty and the Beast retelling. A Thorn in Every Heart is a portal fantasy, we get Alix our FMC who is from modern day Earth and our MMC Daemon from a fantasy realm. The mix of the two was so much fun, the authors writing style and humour is on point and had me giggling throughout the whole book.

It was the perfect amount of predictability you want from a retelling with tons of Easter Eggs for this fairytale and others coming in the future, while still having twist and turns that make it feel fresh. The world building is immersive but extremely easy to follow, the plot is paced well, and the romance be romancing.

I loved Alix and Daemon, the banter, the push and pull, was all perfect. Kate had me swooning the whole way through. AND THE CHAPTER ART!! Each chapter has a small sketch and there are some seriously NSFW ones
