Can’t find this MMC appealing unfortunately. The plot twist near the end was good though, definitely didn’t see it coming!

In this book you follow Olivia, a high school teacher and Carter, captain of the Vancouver Vipers hockey team. The development that happens with these two people is incredible - I ate that shit up 😍
I looooved the banter between the main characters and in general in this book. It’s a very slow paced book and kind of predictable but I still enjoyed it very much - Becka still enrapture you in the book with her writing style ✨
I can’t wait to read the other books in this series

About 3.5 stars imo ⭐️

Don’t get me wrong I liked the book but seriously the descriptions??? Sometimes it was a bit much and it made me cringe but altogether its a good book that I would most likely read again. I hate how all books are rushed, they met less than a year ago and already got married??? like bffr thats not happening, it would be so much better if he proposed in the epilogue and it was a few years later and if the later books included the proposal.

Apart from that, Olivia, like why is she described as petite and everything, there are so many other words that can be used instead of basically being infantilised, and its sometimes weird.
Carter is a decent book boyfriend, I wish he just explained the hotel scenario better instead of them breaking up to basically get engaged a week later.

Hank, is the best character hands down, 80 years and reading smut is too good of a character, he’a why I finished it (jk not really)

I wish there was an exploration of Carter and his dads death in more depth and how he truly felt and how the whole family delt with it, its better than Olivia basically having no back story and is just a high school teacher

This book had me in my feels. The ending had me in tears because it summed up how I feel in my marriage. This was a terrific read and start to a series! I can't wait to read the next book.

Carter is the ultimate golden retriever bf and I’m here for it. Definitely loved seeing the growth of this Oreo loving hilarious dude and Olivia was a vibe. This book definitely made me laugh a lot. Overall love the vibes and a great start to the series
