4/5⭐️

AUTUMN IS A QUEEN! i fucking loved that she made the bitch grovel. she didn’t forgive easily and swoon at the first sight. literally many second chance romances that begin with the boy breaking the girl’s heart gets so badly developed. but this one was amazing.

Holy sexual chemistry! This book was fire and Julian and Autumn’s chemistry was impeccable. The book alternates back in time during Julian and Autumn’s relationship 10 years ago. Julian is Autumn’s brother’s best friend and has been a significant part of their family for years, but when he gets into a secret relationship with Autumn, he knows it will not end well. Julian shatters Autumn’s heart, and the rest of her family when he leaves without a word.

“I never stopped loving you. Not for a second, a minute, an hour. I’ve loved you all my life. All I ever wanted was you”

A job opportunity reunites them. Julian is stunned and thinks this could be their second chance. Autumn is bitter and still holding onto a lot of hatred towards Julian. Despite her claiming to hate him, the sexual tension is undeniable. This book was more than brother’s best friend, it takes you on a journey of emotions with secrets being revealed. I loved watching Julian fight for Autumn’s love, and I am glad that she did not give in so easily after how much he hurt her.

Julian and Autumn are so comfortable with each other, they can laugh and joke while also heating things up! So much spice! This was beautifully written with the flashbacks throughout the story at the right times.

The dual timeline added emotional depth, but I couldn’t connect with the male lead. He was arrogant in both timelines, and disappearing for ten years felt more selfish than noble. The romance just didn’t feel earned.

I found this a little slow at the start but as the story unfolded I found myself more invested. Autumn and Julian are both relatable and likeable characters, and the way this book flips between past and present is well done. Enjoyable read. Great love story, very human characters and the mandatory hea.

Autumn has always been in love with her brother's best friend Julian. A foster kid who her parents loved like a son. When she is sixteen he steals her first kiss and when she turns eighteen he takes many more of her firsts. Julian feels his only choice is to leave feeling as though he's betrayed his best friend Christian and now ten years later Autumn is hired as his PR manager. Julian still wants her though and will do anything to get her back including exposing to the world that they have a history together. However when Julian discovers he has a daughter with Autumn he makes her agree to move in with him for a month while he gets to know her. The two of them must work through their hurt, blame and trust issues.

I liked Julian and Autumn's story. He was always there for her and even thought he always protected her he never thought of her as a little sister especially as she got older. I was a little disappointed in how Christian her brother handled things and was sad to read at the end of the book that he and Kinley are divorcing and I want to read his and Kinley's story together and hope they get back to each other.

This story follows Autumn and Julian, who have grown up together. Autumn has always loved Julian, but it’s been complicated since he’s her brother’s best friend. Julian tried to resist, but Autumn eventually pushed her way into his heart. Now, a decade later, a job opportunity has brought her face-to-face with the infamous alpha CEO—Julian. Autumn knows exactly what she signed up for, but will he break her heart a second time?

This was a fun enemies-to-lovers romance. You could really feel the tension—the hate element stood out, but deep down, the feelings they had as teenagers still sparked something between them. Julian was arrogant, very pushy, and demanding, but I actually enjoyed that side of him. At times, I found the pacing a little too fast and struggled with how he handled the situation when wanting to meet his daughter. It often felt like Autumn couldn’t get a word in but I understood the complicated situation. That said, I loved how fiery Autumn was—she didn’t take any of his crap and resisted for as long as she could. Their chemistry was undeniable, and you could feel they were meant to be together.

Overall, another great book by M. Robinson. I also recommend the audiobook—the narration was excellent.
