The MMC is so frustrating. I listened to this in audiobook form, and the narrators were fine. I still felt unsure if I wanted to smack my head in annoyance or the MMC. He was constantly doing the same thing. He knows he should tell someone about the dolls, definitely tell his fiancee what's going on, and yet doesn't because he "wants to talk" first. I'm just...why? I listened to this twice and still don't understand his logic. I don't understand Layla either. I finished the book, but only because I could tolerate the narrators' voices.

This is more 3.5 stars for me, but I rounded up because it turned into one of those "just one more chapter and I'll go to bed" books, until it's 12:30am and I'm finally done with it. But once I was finally done with it, I had some regret that I stayed up to finish it. The book kept my attention throughout, and I wanted to know what the twist was going to be, but once I found out...meh. This is where it lost some stars. I wish that ending had been better.

So, It started great and then midway through it got a little too convoluted for me and even more at the end. The end was pretty, pretty crazy and drawn out because the author was trying to tie everything up so quickly. I liked the ending, but wish it didn’t need such a long and ridiculous explanation.
