love girls supporting girls. hate teenagers sounding like children in their narration.
I liked the characters and the basic principle... it was an easy read which I needed to get to back to it
This was never marked off as having been read, but I'm pretty sure I read it as soon as I got ahold of it. I'll have to wait for a reread to put down an actual review
A nice summer read. A little predictable but cerntainly enoyable and fun.
lighthearted
medium-paced

If you read my Five Reasons Why You Should Pre-order Kiss Collector (below), then you already know I loved it! It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Wendy Higgins. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: she just has a way of storytelling that never fails to completely captivate me, no matter the content. I don’t care what she writes, I will read it. Okay, it should always involve romance because she’s so good at writing a good love story. Oh, the feels!
This book was no exception to the above. I was captivated from page one and never looked back. The story felt a bit like The Bachelorette at times (a very tamed-down version). The narrator, Zae, after having her heart broken, goes around kissing a bunch of different boys, but she also hangs out with some of them, until finally settling on one to kiss forever. The point is not to fall for any of the guys, so it’s not like The Bachelorette in that sense…I just got a bit of that vibe off of the whole thing. It’s like she had all these guys that were interested in her to choose from – that’s the way it resembled The Bachelorette. Maybe that’s just me though?
Higgins knows how to write romance and really gives the reader those feels. The same was true in this book. My favourite part was when a certain love interest said he wanted to burn Zae’s kiss list. I’m not allowed to share any quotes, but trust me – I melted at that part. The whole scene was just unexpected and hot.
I wish the ending would have given us a bit more, though. I would have liked to have seen them together as a couple. Even just one more chapter would have sufficed I think. I want more of Zae and *** (sorry – I refuse to ruin it for you)!

Five Reasons You Should Pre-order Kiss Collector:
1. The Captivity
Wendy Higgins never fails to tell a captivating story and this book stays true to that! I was captivated from page one feeling like I already knew the characters and just ready to dive into their story!
2. The Romance
Another aspect that Wendy Higgins seems to nail every time: romance! The romance with a certain love interest will definitely give you the feels!
3. The Story
The story follows Zae down a road where she finds herself kissing a bunch of different boys. It almost felt like The Bachelorette because she was kissing all these boys who were clearly interested in her – all she had to do was choose one! Of course, it wasn’t quite like The Bachelorette, but it definitely reminded me of that.
4. The Mystery
Throughout the book, Zae and the reader try to discover who the secret poet is that’s writing anonymous poems about Zae! It’s a super cute, fun, romantic mystery!
5. The Ending
The ending is guaranteed to give you warm fuzzies and put a smile on your face! What other reason do you need than that?

I received an eARC of this through Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
Dudes can be the absolute worst. Zae’s boyfriend cheats on her and her parents are getting divorced because of her own father’s cheating ways. She is done being used by the male population, so she has decided to take what she wants, no strings attached. Zae and her three besties compete against each other to get the most kiss over spring break, the only rules are no falling in love and no kissing anyone’s ex. While Zae is struggling with the changes in her life, like moving to a small apartment and working on her tumbling for cheerleading, she finds that she is developing romantic feelings for two guys in her junior class. Too bad one of those guys has his sights set on one of her friends. Will Zae and her friends be able to come out of this kissing completion with their friendship still intact?
This story was rough because the characters were one-dimensional. I wasn’t pulling for any of the guys, because truthfully I didn’t care about what happened to any of the characters. I have no clue what the main character looks like. All she talks about is her curly hair…but what colors are her eyes, hair, skin? Does she spray tan? While there is a great amount of work done to classify/diversify the other characters, I don’t have a clear picture of the main character. I loved the Sweet Reckoning series, but this novel didn’t work for me. However, I loved the fact that the main character was good at and loved languages. I have never seen a character with those qualities before and I think it does give a refreshing outlook. This novel did explore the less popular, but just as awesome options for adulthood…not everyone wants to go to college, and that is okay. I totally appreciated that.

Xanderia Monroe. But she goes by Zae. She lives her high school life full of drama, teenage crushes and lots of heartbreak. There is way too much fun and emotion to go around here and it was surprising for me to read a YA contemporary from Wendy Higgins, whom I have mostly connected with PNR and her recent sci-fi series.
This was new and fresh and I enjoyed it. There is a huge spoiler about whom Zae ends with but I'll leave to you to find out. ;)
My only throwback was the underage drinking and the parties. They are all a bunch of 16/17 years old. Where were the parents in all this? But despite that, the story was well written and Zae's emotions were realistic and funny.

This read a bit young. Zae was not a particularly likeable protagonist, so I wasn't enthralled to read about her conquests or the good things that happened to her. Her friends were pretty stock/flat characters. I do think her parents were pretty interesting — what does it say about me that I'd rather read about their story?
