As the eldest daughter of my family, I completely understand the responsibilities that come with this role. However, Elliot's family has made her family's go-to problem solver and they don't return the favor
the pacing of the book felt way too fast imo. i genuinely enjoyed the relationship between the two leads, but the struggles Eliot went through personally never felt fully recognized, like we just glossed over a very strong revelation and then dusted our hands off
Anise Starre is one of my favorite authors at the moment, with the way she excels at writing banter and depicting Black women living their best lives and receiving the love they deserve. I loved this book so much, and related way too much with Eliott, our FMC. Eliott’s journey to understanding her worth and that she deserves to be more than an afterthought (in and out of the bedroom) is so heartwarming, and I’m already recommending it to a friend. Plus, the spicy scenes were top tier—probably my favorite out of what Starre’s written so far!
Two main things holding me back from 5 stars:
1. I didn’t like Sasha, the best friend, very much. This is unfortunate because the friendship between Amber and Bailey in the other books is my favorite thing about them. I just wanted her to be a better/more thoughtful friend!
2. While Eliott does go through a healing journey as far as her relationship to sex that I can definitely relate to, there was one thing that kept bugging me throughout the book: they continuously referred to a
