A bit messy, but quite fun overall. Loved the guest appearances, the story was nice too overall. Sad to hear that the run was cancelled, but looking forward to seeing where it goes in the next few volumes.

I feel I am worse off for having read this. There are only one or two redeeming moments in this comic. The rest is just a try-hard collection of tropes and extremely flat characters who are just there to give someone other than America a few lines of dialogue. Some of the drawings look like they're drawings of children's playdoh sculptures, like the moment America punches that mustachioed guy. I just couldn't get into this.

story felt disjointed and i didn't understand what was going on?
i really dislike when nazis are used as a catch-all bad guy. i understand that the panel of america punching hitler was a reference to the 1940s cover of captain america punching hitler, but i think it's really important to keep hatred of hitler grounded in the historical reality of what he did, and not just include him to be a generalized villain. the scene america punching hitler definitely felt like he was more of a supervillain than a real man who was directly responsible for the genocide of millions of jewish and roma people. i'm particularly irritated by america's response to being told by peggy carter that she fucked up a 6 month operation against the nazis: "Excuse you. Rude.... Listen lady, I don't know what's up your beehive, but I just saved everyone from Hitler. So uhh byeeee." who is "everyone"? surely not the hundreds of thousands of jews who would die if the war was prolonged because, oh yeah, america doesn't even kill hitler, she literally just hits him with a left hook? yeah, that's the kind of superheroine i want :\
i get that this was written during peak 2017 "punch nazis" tumblr culture, but if your hatred of nazis isn't grounded in love of the people harmed by them, it's not worth much. (there are no jewish characters in this, btw. why do you have hitler as a character but no jews?) america's dismissive response to being told she messed up when the stakes are the LITERAL HOLOCAUST makes her words callous instead of just childish. needless to say i'm not a fan!
as other reviews have mentioned, the best part of this volume was america and kate bishop's friendship.

I really like this version of America. I think she’s fun and flawed in the ways many young people destined for great things are. I appreciate her back story of her moms, her choosing to leave the parallel, and finding her people amongst the Latin community. I also very much love the LGBTQ+ representation! And just the brown girl love!

Sigh. I really enjoy America as a character but this whole run is so messy, the pacing completely off. We‘re rushing from one thing into the next and then it‘s just pages of talking.

It didn‘t help that I didn‘t like the art and that the art in issues 5 & 6 was downright ugly.
